Another group of Bartolini Air students have completed their Airline Pilot Standard Multi-Crew Cooperation (APS MCC) course this week ✈🎓. Their training began with computer-based training (CBT) and 25 hours of ground school, covering Crew Resource Management (CRM), airline-standard operating procedures, and Boeing 737 systems. The pilots then spent 40 hours in a Boeing 737-800 (FNPTII) simulator, mastering both standard and non-normal procedures, as demonstrated in the video below 🎥. The APS MCC course, delivered by active Boeing captains 👨✈👩✈, fostered cooperation within a multi-pilot crew and comprehensively prepared our students to fly the 737 to the highest airline standards 🌍. Every landing may be a challenge – even for seasoned pilots. ✈ On 23 April 2024, the landing of a Lufthansa Boeing 747 in Los Angeles caught the attention of aviation experts. The firm touchdown, captured by Aviation Videos, was likely caused by delayed flare - a common threat in commercial aviation, even more so for pilots transitioning to the Jumbo Jet. 👉 Why is it so challenging? The cockpit of the B747 is positioned a striking 7.5 metres above the nose gear, which completely changes the perspective. The cockpit is also situated far ahead of the main landing gear and the positive pitch during landing means that the pilot sits even higher above the runway. In this case, the crew’s response was exemplary - an immediate go-around and a successful landing a few minutes later. That is also the approach we are instilling in Bartolini Air students already in light piston aircraft - in case of an unstable approach, bounced touchdown or any other doubts about the safety of the landing - execute a go around. ✨ New post series!
