We’ll be saying a sad goodbye and fond farewell to our wonderful Finance & Operations Manager in the coming months. Due to the development of our work, we’re now looking to appoint to the dedicated post of Finance Manager, which will report to our Chief Executive and sit on the Leadership Team. Due to the fab work done over the last 18-months, the incoming person will find our financial management and reporting in very good order and will have a strong platform to work from going forward. We’re looking for someone who has a credible track record in charity finance management, but someone who equally has a genuine care for our mission and is the right fit for culture we’re building at Zarach. About us
A Leeds based charity committed to helping children and families who are living in poverty crisis. We do this by providing a bed bundle which includes a bed, mattress, duvet, pillow, bedding, pyjamas and hygiene pack. We know that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. A child arriving at school tired and hungry is less likely to engage and less likely to succeed. We want to level the playing field and provide all children with an equal opportunity to learn. We receive referrals from over 100 partner schools, and provide ongoing support including signposting and advocacy. We also provide food to the neediest families and small home improvements. Our mission is to bring lasting and positive change to those children growing up in the grips of poverty crisis through bed bundles and food deliveries, tailored support packages, and raising awareness.

Connecting Homes, Creating Comfort: Alconex Infrastructure and Solutions Ltd and Zarach collaborate to Ensure Safe and Cosy Nights for Children Living in Bed Poverty We are thrilled to announce our new charity partnership with Zarach – The Children’s Bed Charity. 🤝 Zarach are on a mission to end child bed poverty, giving children the opportunity to engage at school and a chance to break the future cycle of Poverty. In line with our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve, Alconex will align all our charitable fundraising efforts and pledge to donate £3 for every house we connect. This initiative aims to help Zarach transform houses into homes for children experiencing bed poverty. Our contributions will include regular monthly donations, as well as funds raised from company events and employee initiatives. To kick off this exciting partnership, our Senior Leadership Team welcomed Ellie McGrath, National Funding and Communications Manager for Zarach, at our Strategy Launch Day earlier this week. Ellie delivered a heartfelt presentation on the incredible work Zarach is doing. We are proud and pleased to support children’s bed charity Zarach this month with a corporate donation matched by our Calisen Impact Charitable Trust. Zarach’s mission is to make sure every child in England has a bed of their own, giving them support and comfort and a greater chance to learn and succeed at school. Our Chief Commercial Officer, Sarah Blackburn commented: “Zarach’s Christmas appeal aims to reach 1,000 children before Christmas Day, giving them a new bed, bedding and pyjamas as thousands of children face the prospect of spending Christmas sleeping on the floor, on cushions, or crowded into single beds with multiple siblings. At Gateley Leeds office, we're finishing the year with a lot of fun - and fund-raising - activities - in particular for our amazing office charity Zarach (which included volunteers creating bed bundles for delivery before Christmas as well as our big raffle). Yesterday was our Santa Run - a slightly longer than planned run around Leeds - and the big man himself joined us for a drink afterwards at the Leeds Christmas Market! After a very busy year, I hope everyone enjoys a well deserved break over the festive period!

Back in the summer we moved to our new warehouse premises in Leeds, Affectionately referred to as the Zed Shed. Those that visited our previous warehouse in Mabgate will know that having proper dedicated office space was a big step up for us. 🎉 Exciting Update! 🎉 On Friday, we made our 1st drop off of 130 shoebox hampers for Zarach an incredible milestone thanks to our amazing learners! Not only did the group get a chance to tour the fantastic Zed Shed, but they arrived just as a delivery of duvets came in – perfect timing! 💪 Our learners were more than happy to jump in and help, showing their true community spirit. But we’re not done yet! There’s still time to donate before our final drop off on 19th December. Can we hit our 250 shoebox target? 👀 Let’s make it happen together!
