2025 is here and the Wrightbus green transport revolution continues. We are going from strength to strength and will continue creating jobs, developing skills, supporting a growing supply chain and reducing Co2 emissions in towns, cities and urban areas across the UK and beyond. All of this is centred around the work being done in our Northern Ireland headquarters by world leading minds in engineering, green technology and manufacturing.   The Wrightbus ecosystem includes suppliers from 47 counties across the United Kingdom, generating thousands of jobs and millions of pounds in revenue for a myriad of businesses. AllServiceOne continues to grow, offering the best industry support to our operators and NewPower UK is helping to revolutionise the decarbonisation of public transport, replacing diesel engines with state of the art battery-electric systems.   Our buses and products have been exported to Asia, Australia and Europe and we have ambitious plans to increase those numbers in 2025. In the run up to Christmas, the Wrightbus team has come together to support our local Trussell Foodbank, Cash for Kids Northern Ireland appeal and Save the Children UK. These have been awesome opportunities to help spread hope, kindness and joy to those in our communities who are struggling this Christmas. It is a reminder that even the smallest act of generosity can make a huge difference for families and children who need it most. Rotary Club Ballymena – #FoodBank Collection: The Rotary Club Ballymena, supported by many of our local schools, will use the donated items to make food hampers for the elderly and less fortunate in the Ballymena area. Laura Marie Kerr made the drop off as our Wrightbus representative within our Corporate Membership with Rotary Club. Cash for Kids Northern Ireland – #MissionChristmas: Mission Christmas has a goal that every child has a Christmas and wakes up to a toy. #Composites ran their Cash for Kids Mission Christmas collection for the fourth year and were delighted to be able to deliver an impressive amount of presents to Cash for Kids HQ in Belfast. Robert Rennie organises and drives this initiative. We delivered the presents to their HQ on a Metroline Ltd EV double deck.   Save the Children UK – #ChristmasJumperDay Christmas Jumper Day is Save the Children's annual event which raises money for children who need it most. Our teams got together on Friday 13th December to wear their Christmas jumpers and fundraise. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, and continues to donate to these vital charities this Christmas. #FleetFriday | Metroline Ltd | Wrightbus #Electroliners Wrightbus StreetDeck #Electroliners have been in service with Metroline Ltd since 2023, and in August 2023 Transport for London celebrated its 1000th electric bus in service - a #Metroline StreetDeck Electroliner - a significant milestone in the decarbonisation of London and the bus network. Their numbers have grown rapidly over 2024, as we have worked together to provide cleaner, greener transport options for the operator across London.   By the end of the year we will have delivered over 50 StreetDeck and GB Kite Electroliners to London, including most recently our new look StreetDeck, featuring the TfL 2024 safety standards.   Wrightbus CEO Jean-Marc Gales commented “Our partnership with Metroline continues to go from strength to strength as we work together decarbonising public transport in London. Metroline’s repeated and substantial orders with Wrightbus are not only testament to the quality and reliability of our product, but also help to support homegrown manufacturing, jobs and the UK wide economy through our local supply chain, where we have already spent more than a billion pounds with UK firms.”   These state-of-the-art vehicles come with an array of features to enhance both customer accessibility, comfort and safety including induction loop systems, wheelchair and pushchair spaces, and audio-visual next stop announcement systems along with USB charging points and high back seats.    The new buses also feature the 2024 Transport for London bus specification which sets world leading safety standards for pedestrians and cyclists with soft crash front zones, better visibility with enhanced vision and blind spot warning and improved passenger, pedestrian and cyclist safety standards.   As well as improving air quality by lowering emissions and cutting carbon, these buses cut down on noise pollution, helping to create a healthier environment around London.   2025 will see many more single and double deck Electroliners from Wrightbus join the fleet. These buses are proudly built at Wrightbus in #NorthernIreland, supporting a local UK supply chain and share an impressive 86% component commonality, helping to reduce operator costs.   @Sean O’Shea Metroline CEO commented: “I am pleased to see Wrightbus continue to advance the design of their buses, ensuring that they meet the exacting standards required for our operations in London.
