Updates

  • We've had a busy 2024! Here's a look back at just some of the things we've done throughout the year! A huge thank you to all of our customers, we hope everyone has a great Christmas break. We will see you in 2025.

  • We would like to notify all customers of the below operating dates over the Christmas break for all sites. While our sites may have staff working, all phones and sites will be closed to customers between those dates.

  • Our kilning capacity is increasing. An exciting advancement with the addition of three new kilns to help reduce lead times for our fire-retardant treatment customers in 2025. 👏

In a huge milestone, we're pleased to announce that work is underway to clear space for our three new kilns at our treatment site in Kirkburn. Due to increased demand, we have invested in three new Secal kilns to boost our kilning capacity. This will be a huge benefit to our customers offering shorter lead times for treatment in 2025.

  • Instead of 'Secret Santa' in our office this year, our staff have brought in a range of new toys, games, toiletries and clothing for Santa Squad, a fundraising group for Hull's Children, started By Hull's Children. We will be loading these up and dropping them off tomorrow so they can be organised and gifted to local, underprivileged children on Christmas Day.

  • Last week we attended the HEY Business Awards at the Doubletree By Hilton in Hull to see our timber chassis for static caravans, lodges and other smaller units as a finalist for their Innovation Award. The evening had a great mix of businesses present, from local charities & small startups, to large international organisations. Our chassis product was pitted against tough competition from two tech-based innovations and unfortunately had been bested this time. We're really proud of the recognition the chassis is getting as we start to distribute some of them across the UK to early adopters and sustainably-minded manufacturers. #HEYBA

  • We're Finalists! We're pleased to say that our innovative, patented timber chassis has been shortlisted for the Innovation Award at the HEY Business Awards. The shortlist comes as a result of three years of design and development work and now finally introducing the product to the market in September this year. We look forward to the 21st November at the awards evening for the winner to be revealed. #HEYBA

  • Our team have visited James Jones & Sons Ltd's sawmill in Lockerbie, Scotland. As part of the wood science course with TFT Woodexperts Ltd, our team had a tour of the site seeing the processing of timber from logs through to completed packs.    The tour comes after the team have recently learned about timber grading both machine and visual as well as the use of structural timbers. The group were able to see first-hand timber grading at the mill and the complex automated systems the James Jones team have in place.    Read more about the tour here: https://lnkd.in/eFFjqKea
