An independent, global company with Scottish roots, we craft some of the world’s most iconic spirit brands.

About us

William Grant & Sons is an independent, family owned premium spirits company. When our founder William Grant established our company in 1887, he had a vision to make the best dram in the valley, and that vision stands true today as we build brands that are loved the world over. These include our eight core brands: Glenfiddich, Grant's, The Balvenie, Tullamore D.E.W., Drambuie, Hendrick's Gin, Sailor Jerry Rum and Monkey Shoulder. We have distilling and bottling operations in Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, India, the US and Mexico and a team of over 2,600 people at 48 global locations. We consistently win the industry’s top accolades, which are testament to the quality of our liquid, our dedication to our craft and the talent of our people. One hundred and thirty four years on, we are leaders in the international spirits industry and have ambitious plans for growth to ensure our business is sustainable for the long term. William Grant was a true pioneer. He worked with a close-knit team of talented and passionate people to create a legacy that endures and their spirit is very much at the heart of our culture today.

  • We are deeply saddened by the loss of David Wilson, who was a valued member of the William Grant & Sons team during his time with us. David spent nearly five years with the Company where he made a lasting impact. His career spanned almost 40 years with the majority as a prominent figure in the spirits industry, where he was a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Distillers and Master of the Keepers of the Quaich. Our thoughts are with David's wife and their family during this difficult time.

  • We recently held our annual Long Service Awards at the The Caledonian Edinburgh to honour our colleagues’ service milestones in the UK & Ireland. On this important night in our Company calendar, awardees are joined by their family and friends as they receive their awards, presented alongside heartfelt tributes from close colleagues and friends. This year there are an incredible 79 colleagues in the UK & Ireland who are celebrating 10, 20, 30 and even 40-year milestones with the Company – together, that’s 1,260 years of service! A huge congratulations to every one of you.

  • Tullamore D.E.W. have hosted 21 bartenders from 7 markets on a coast-to-coast trip across Ireland as part of their new bartender programme - 1829 Collective. It's a chance for bartenders to immerse themselves in the brand, its history and of course the amazing liquid.   The group visited Dublin, Athlone and Galway, experiencing the local food and drink scene while engaging with the on-trade. The adventure came to a close in the brand’s hometown, Tullamore, in the heart of Ireland, where they were warmly welcomed by Irish wolfhounds at the Tullamore D.E.W. distillery. They had the rare opportunity to meet the coopers and witness the extraordinary craftsmanship of barrel-making first-hand, taste our liquids and learn of our rich history of distilling.   Sharing our craft with bartenders is an essential ingredient to creating a strong community and making sure that every single dram of Tullamore D.E.W. is enjoyed exactly as it should be.   #Pleasedrinkresponsibly

  • Café Drambuie has been delighting travellers at London’s Gatwick Airport this month, with the opportunity to see, smell, and sample both the classic liqueur and the modern Drambuie Iced Espresso cocktail. Following its launch last December in Edinburgh, visitors have been taking part in an unexpectedly delicious sampling experience in the heart of the airport's fragrance duty free area. An estimated +700,000 travellers will discover the unique sensory experience of Drambuie and the Drambuie Iced Espresso cocktail - a flavour combination of the enticing aromas of espresso and Drambuie's rich taste, transforming our whisky liqueur into what we playfully call DrambOOOuie! If you missed Café Drambuie, fear not, as you too can celebrate the start of the holiday season by making your own Drambuie Iced Espressos. Simply pour or shake equal parts Drambuie with fresh espresso coffee and serve over ice. It's an unexpectedly delicious way to impress your friends when hosting your next gathering. #Pleasedrinkresponsibly
