⚠Increase in the higher rate of SDLT for the purchase of additional dwellings – taking effect tomorrow❗   Individuals buying second properties pay a surcharge which is now 5% higher than the standard rate.   This will mainly impact people buying a second home, a buy-to-let property or where they have not managed to sell their existing home before buying a new home. It will also apply to all companies buying residential property used as part of a genuine property business.   If you have exchanged contracts before Budget Day but not yet completed you may still be able to pay at the current rates.   The Budget changes will significantly increase the SDLT charge for people buying an additional residential property. https://lnkd.in/es7Bu-ZT If you need further advice, speak to Pauline Hudd. #SDLT #Budget2024 #Property #Tax
