  • Winter Solstice marks a significant moment in the Northern Hemisphere—a time when the days are shortest, and the nights are longest. Across cultures, this day has long symbolised reflection, renewal, and the resilience. As we reflect on the past year, we can both celebrate the challenges overcome and look forward to the opportunities ahead. Just as the Solstice reminds us of nature’s cycles, we recognise the importance of pausing to realign and prepare for the next phase of growth and collaboration. #WinterSolstice #GlobalCommunity #ReflectionAndRenewal

  • Today, on Human Rights Day, we join the global community in reflecting on this year’s theme, ‘Freedom, Equality, and Justice for All’, reminding us that human rights is not bound by borders, industries, or sectors. For us, the principles of equity, respect, and inclusion are essential to building stronger, more sustainable organisations and communities. Whether supporting clients in fostering inclusive cultures, enabling diverse leadership, or driving innovation through cross-cultural collaboration, our work is grounded in these values. Together, we can contribute to a more just and equitable world for everyone. #HumanRightsDay #EqualityForAll #ConsultingWithImpact

  • Last week we had the privilege of hosting an extraordinary conversation with Nick B., the most successful Paralympic coach in history, and Benjamin Pritchard, the trailblazing Paralympic gold medallist in the PR1 Single Sculls at Paris 2024 for a number of our clients. Not only did Ben shatter records as the first Paralympian to achieve a sub 08.40 minute row, but together, he and Nick cultivated a team culture that delivered three Paralympic golds and is now aspired to by Paralympic and able-bodied teams worldwide. What’s their secret? Through candid stories and hard-earned insights, Nick and Ben shared three powerful lessons that go beyond the rowing course — lessons that will resonate with every leader as they strive to inspire and empower their own teams. 🎯 Shift from being a ‘Leader who Does’ to being a ‘Leader who Coaches’- reset the benchmark by setting audacious goals to inspire, but then quickly pivot to planning the process to break big goals into clear, manageable step. 💪 Build a Culture That Unlocks Performance – this won’t happen by chance; it requires bravery and deliberate action to have tough conversations, share goals and build social capital. 🧠 Enable a High-Performance Mindset – resilience will help you to manage the 'bumps’ along the way, but this requires a change in perspective, authentic support and micro-reinforcements Watch this space as we explore the impact of their insights for those leading Post Merger Integration, and check out Wharton Ignite for more exploration of how these tips apply to creating high performing team dynamics. We really hope all those who were able to attend felt as inspired as we did- it was great to connect and chat! • This Thanksgiving, we’re reflecting on the power of collaboration and connection across borders. While Thanksgiving is an American tradition, its spirit - gratitude - resonates globally. As we celebrate this season of appreciation, we were delighted to join the American European Business Association (AEBA) at their November lunch discussion yesterday. Dame Karen Pierce DCMG, British Ambassador to the United States, shared her illuminating insights and invited a roundtable discussion on the 'special relationship' and the shared opportunities for both nations. This year, we’ve been privileged to partner with our US clients to help integrate Structures, Leaders and Cultures to maximise their business value. To all our clients, colleagues, and partners worldwide, thank you for your trust and inspiration. Your vision drives us to innovate, solve challenges, and deliver meaningful results. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Wharton Business Consulting! #Thanksgiving2024 #GlobalGratitude #TransatlanticPartnerships

  • Today we travelled to the snowy north to support the Customer and Operational Risk team at RSA explore what is takes to create consistently high performance. Our wonderful keynote speaker Alex Gregory MBE really brought this concept to life. As someone who professes to honestly NOT be the best rower and to not really like sport all that much- but who also holds 2x Gold Olympic Medals and 6x World Championship medals rowing with different teams each time- his story is both relatable and inspiring. So what did he explore? 🎯 This importance of truly understanding your Purpose- in terms of your what, your how but also your why 🧠 The need to reframe expectations and mindset in face to constant setback 🥅 The power of a coach who sets audacious but also objective goals- but lets a team work out the solution themselves 👁️🗨️ That open and honest communication is critical- and it’s worth spending time to ensure you have no regrets as a team 🚣♀️ That once off outstanding performance is amazing- but consistency and small, micro improvements is actually what unlocks sustainable results 🙌 That high performance comes from helping others be the best they can be- not focusing on making yourself the best ........Oh, and that possessing two gold medals does not actually give you as many freebies as you might hope! The power of Alex’s story is actually in the fact that these things are true for us all regardless of whether we are going for a world record or just looking to deliver the best performance we can at work day-to-day.  We really hope this has set the team up for success for 2025 and can't wait to see how they translate it into practice next year #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipinsurance #highperformingteams Paul Grigg Jason Gilbert

Had the privilege recently of hosting executives from our clients Starling Bank QBE, Admiral, and Terra Firma at the stunning Winfield House for the American European Business Association (AEBA) gathering. This intimate event fosters meaningful connections between top executives, government, and regulators, providing candid insights that are vital in today's global business landscape. It was a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas in a discreet and thought-provoking environment. These events align closely with Wharton BC’s mission of solving complex people challenges through strategic collaboration and leadership transformation, and our expertise in creating transformative leadership experiences. By connecting leaders in this way, we drive business growth and problem-solving - just as we do in our consulting work. 👉 https://whartonbc.co.uk/ #Leadership #GlobalBusiness #Networking #AEBA #WhartonBC

  • Next week, we're thrilled to welcome Paralympic Rowing Coach Nick B. and British Paralympic Gold Medallist Benjamin Pritchard as they share their remarkable stories with our clients.   Nick led his team to 3 Golds and 1 Silver out of 4 entries, while Ben is an Paralympic Record holder in Single Sculls, having overcome significant personal challenges. Their insights into elite sports performance offer incredible parallels for driving success in the business world. We look forward to sharing the highlights with you but here are three questions we’ll be exploring in the session: 1) What parallels are there between elite sports performance and success in the business world in terms of creating the right culture, goals and mindset to excel? 2) What qualities do world-class athletes/coaches and top business leaders both need to develop to step into that high performance space? 3) How can everyone use the lessons from sport to build stronger, more resilient teams in the workplace? We can't wait! #LeadershipExcellence #EliteMindset #WhartonBusinessConsulting #PerformanceElevated

  • At Wharton Business Consulting, we’re always looking to raise the bar on performance. We collaborate with leading-edge thinkers and world-class athletes, tapping into their invaluable insights to draw powerful parallels with corporate success. These perspectives can help you shape strategies that will take your business performance to the next level. This month we’re running a session with Nick B. and Benjamin Pritchard on their remarkable Paralympic stories. This will be an opportunity for leaders to draw on the parallels between athletic excellence and corporate success, and share invaluable lessons on resilience, performance under pressure, goal setting and what it takes to create and coach for a ‘winning team’ culture. What’s one question you’d love to ask Nick Baker or Ben Pritchard about high performance, overcoming adversity and the tips they would give to those leading businesses to success? Let us know in the comments below and we'll summarise the insights they share after the event. #LeadershipExcellence #EliteMindset #WhartonBusinessConsulting #PerformanceElevated Image courtesy of Benedict Tufnell

A fantastic morning today spent working with the Marketing & Fundraising Exec Team at British Red Cross. Time spent helping them think tangibly about the culture they want to create to them to deliver their ambitious and exciting strategic goals and transform the Directorate. It’s a joy to work with purpose-led organisations and with people who want to give their all to creating the conditions where people and performance can thrive. And always lovely to partner with Matt Dunphy Wharton Business Consulting #workthatmatters #culturetransformation #leadership
