Updates

  • From North Paddington to Pimlico, 2024 was about working with local people to improve everyday lives. That meant: 🚪 building much needed housing and action on cleaner streets 🏬 creating local high streets people want to spend time in 🎍 overhauling public spaces like Maida Hill market 🧒🏻 supporting hard-up families with free school meals for every Westminster child eligible between the ages of three and 14 💷 committing more than £24m in cost of living measures to support residents – including £100,000 to ensure the holiday, activity and food programme reach more disadvantaged young people. This coming year will see us build on that record – whether that’s housing, jobs or help with bills.

  • Trafalgar Square and surrounding roads will be closed from Monday 6 January to Friday 10 January, due to council carriageway resurfacing works.   There will be diversions in place, but the area will be extremely busy so please avoid if possible.  We will work extended days, between 08:00hrs and 22:00hrs each day to expedite the completion of each of the four phases. However, the road closures will be in place 24/7. All work is weather permitting, and we have 11 January as a contingency day to complete resurfacing and TfL civil works if required. All work will be completed under 4 phased road closures. The phases are: 📌 Monday 6 Jan Northumberland Ave, Whitehall 📌 Tuesday 7 Jan The Mall Cockspur St. (Westbound) 📌 Wednesday 8 Jan Cockspur St. (Eastbound) Charing Cross Road 📌 Thursday 9 Jan Strand, Northumberland Avenue 📌 Friday 10 Jan (TfL only) Strand Northumberland Avenue
