About us
Our approach is simple, we want your business to be successful and have the appropriately skilled staff. Our ethos is to put our learners’ success at the heart of everything we do. We currently train and educate over 12,000 students, which range from 16-18 Full Time Study, Apprenticeships, Higher Education and Adult learners. We work with employers to help identify gaps and any staff development needs to ensure business goals and operational performance is effective. We offer Apprenticeships across broad range of industries and can deliver a multiple of different levels. We can assist you in the recruitment of an apprentice and support at interviews. Our short courses provide intensive training in a particular vocational area and some lead to accredited qualifications. We operate flexibility throughout the year and can offer training at a time and location that suits your business. We regularly update the courses offered and respond to industry developments and legislative requirements. We would be pleased to discuss your individual requirements and can offer bespoke training in your premises if required. We have a large number of students looking for experience and to understand the career they wish to move into. Employers can support by offering a work placement or giving guest talks to classes. It's a great way to start that talent pipeline for your organisation. 🎉 What a fantastic day at the East Cambs Careers and Skills Fair 2024! It was truly inspiring to see hundreds of enthusiastic students from local schools exploring their potential career paths at the stunning Ely Cathedral. As a parent it was admirable meeting children around my eldest daughters age and hearing that they want to be Marine Biologists and Forensic Scientists (amongst plenty of professional footballers). The energy and curiosity of these young minds were palpable as they engaged in insightful conversations about their futures. A huge thank you to everyone who made this event a success, from the dedicated organisers to the passionate professionals who shared their experiences and advice. It's events like these that pave the way for the next generation of skilled professionals. Celebrating the Class of 2024! 🍾 On Saturday the 12th of October, we had the pleasure of celebrating our remarkable 2024 graduates in a spectacular ceremony at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. We were joined in this iconic venue by academic staff, support staff, guest speakers, friends and family to watch each graduate take to the stage for their special moment; honouring the achievements of those receiving degrees, diplomas and certificates under University Studies at West Suffolk College. There's nothing better than seeing someone's hard work pay off, and we couldn't be more proud of what our students have achieved this year.
