About us
Weight Partners Capital is a specialist private equity investor founded in 2009 with £64m AUM. We focus on what we know – investing in segments that reflect our team’s sector and operational experience, in businesses that we understand. We invest in businesses at the smaller end of the healthcare services market in the UK, that work to change lives by producing outstanding outcomes for customers, staff, funders and local communities. We work closely with leadership to build dedicated teams, make rigorous decisions to cultivate long-term growth, and always work with humility. This approach allows us to consistently drive attractive returns for our investors and management teams. WPC invests in companies undergoing complex transitions: whether they would benefit from operational support to expand rapidly, have fallen on hard times, or lack access to the necessary financial resources and experience to facilitate growth. Our strategies include operational improvements, buy-and-build, organic roll-out, founder exits, and corporate carve-outs.

2024 has been an exciting year for Weight Partners Capital LLP as we continue to drive innovation and positive impact within the UK healthcare sector. As the year draws to an end, we want to reflect on some key highlights. We’ve attended many key industry events, networked with delegates from around the globe, and participated in panel discussions at IPEM Cannes in January, The Emerging Manager Exchange in April, hosted by Informa Connect, and SuperInvestor, Monaco, in October. In June, portfolio companies TowerView Care and Grosvenor Health & Social Care received multiple nominations from the HealthInvestor Awards 2024 for delivering exceptional specialist and domiciliary care to patients and their surrounding communities. In August, Grosvenor Health completed the bolt-on acquisition of Esteem Care. This continues the strong path of acquisitions Grosvenor has been on since WPC invested in late 2021, with eight bolt-on acquisitions now completed - broadening the scope of its geographical footprint and customer base, enhancing patient satisfaction and delivering greater outcomes. Managing Partner Jim Weight contributed his expertise to a number of timely workshops, such as the Richmond Events Finance Directors Forum (so oversubscribed that it had to be delivered twice!), and a session hosted by Odgers Interim and CF on revitalising deal-making in healthcare. As the UK’s only specialist investor in UK mid-market healthcare services, we’re excited to capitalise on the strong momentum we’ve built this year and continue supporting our portfolio to deliver exceptional healthcare outcomes. Please reach out or send us a DM if you’re interested in exploring this crucial yet underserved sector of the market – we’d love to hear from you! #privateequity #healthcareservices #fundraising

Weight Partners Capital LLP’s Managing Partner Jim Weight hosted a discussion entitled ‘Private Equity: The FD’s Survival Guide’ at The Richmond Events' Finance Directors Forum in Hertfordshire. He delivered an engaging workshop, providing financial directors and CFOs in the crowd with a break-down of the private equity ecosystem and how it differs from other ownership structures. Jim drew on his years of experience as a CFO in private equity-backed businesses, his time as a finance director in a FTSE 50 group and his 15+ years as an investor. He explained that the challenges and rewards associated with private equity ownership from a financial director’s perspective might not be for everyone, but the audience reinforced that it can be a highly rewarding career for those it suits. He also took the opportunity to address those contemplating private equity takeovers, telling hopeful financial directors that carve-outs and take privates can be routes to faster positive change and personal growth. A definite highlight was having to be moved to a bigger room and to present twice because the original session was oversubscribed! Thank you to the organisers at The Richmond Finance Directors forum and to everyone who attended the sessions. #privateequity #forum #financedirector

That’s a wrap for Weight Partners Capital LLP at this year’s Monaco edition of SuperInvestor! Managing Partner Jim Weight and Gail Jermyn, Head of Investor Relations, have been busy forging new connections and networking with delegates across the scene. Jim was invited to speak alongside Athena Capital’s Isabelle Dufour Freidheim and Mikael Johnsson from Oxx for a timely panel discussion on one of the industry’s most burning questions: “The elephant in the room: where are the exits?” The discussion spanned a host of topics from how the exits market has fared in 2024 and the drivers of the downturn in exits seen across private markets, to the sectors and asset classes that have been able to consistently outperform market conditions. The challenges have established new tools that are expected to remain as the market recovers, such as continuation vehicles. The panel view, shared by most at the conference is that we are in the “Springtime” of returning to normality, with the more resilient sectors like healthcare expected to recover first. Many thanks to the Informa Connect team for organising another seamless experience. #superinvestor #privateequity #conference #healthcareservices #fundraising

Weight Partners Capital LLP’s Managing Partner Jim Weight and Head of Investor Relations Gail Jermyn will be attending Informa Connect’s SuperInvestor in Monaco next week. Jim will be taking to the main stage on 7th November to speak on the panel “The elephant in the room: where are the exits?”, where he will be joined by Mikael Johnsson, Co-founder and General Partner of Oxx and Athena Capital’s Founder and Managing Partner Isabelle Dufour Freidheim. The discussion will cover a range of topics, delving into how the exits market has fared in 2024 and how we can expect it to evolve in the coming year, which exits have been successful and what is driving this, and how the secondary market is increasingly establishing itself as a viable option for overcoming liquidity constraints. We’ll be at the conference from Tuesday 5th to Friday 8th November and are looking forward to catching up with our industry peers! Send us a message or leave a comment if you are going – we’d love to meet up and tell you about our fundraise as we look to accelerate investment into socially impactful lower mid-market UK healthcare services. #superinvestor #privateequity #conference #fundraising #healthcareservices

Weight Partners Capital LLP’s Jim Weight spoke on CF and Odgers Interim’s panel, on the key drivers and challenges of revitalising deal-making in the healthcare sector. Jim was joined by fellow healthcare experts Matthew Lee from Lincoln International, Bioscript Group’s Gabrielle Silver, and Vernon Baxter, who chaired the discussion. Together, the group highlighted how the downturn in M&A activity has led to an increased average holding time for healthcare investments, while declining interest rates and stable valuations offer green shoots for a rebound in dealmaking in 2025. As the only specialist investor in domestic mid-market healthcare services, we greatly enjoyed contributing to this timely discussion. Click the link below to read the full article, which delves deeper into more topics of concern for healthcare investors including debt pressures, market congestion, management fatigue and the need to differentiate from competitors. Thank you to Ross Gordon and SJ Leatherdale for co-hosting the event. https://lnkd.in/emaDsuvh #privateequity #healthcareservices #dealmaking #discussion

As a signatory to the Investment Compact for Venture Capital and Growth Equity, Weight Partners Capital LLP’s Jim Weight was invited to attend the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) Partners for Growth’s UK Pensions Summit. This debut channel, dedicated exclusively to the UK Pensions industry, brought together leading voices in the growth, venture capital and pensions sectors to unpack how private markets can help support greater retirement outcomes. It was especially thought-provoking to hear from keynote speaker Emma Reynolds MP, the newly appointed Minister for Pensions in the Treasury and Department for Work and Pensions. She addressed the importance of broadening institutional pension investors’ access to private capital, and how private markets can help the government achieve its goals for UK economic growth. WPC has extensive experience in providing support to vulnerable communities, and we are acutely aware of the need to drive innovation in this field and foster greater investment returns for pension products to UK consumers. We’re currently raising our debut fund, so it was great to discuss investment opportunities with like-minded investors looking to explore under-allocated markets. If you’d like to learn more about opportunities in UK healthcare services, please get in touch! #BVCA #conference #networking #privateequity #pensions

Weight Partners Capital LLP is gearing up for a busy September, with the team attending key UK-focused private equity conferences Private Equity Insights London and the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) Summit. Gail Jermyn, Investor Relations, and David Jolly, Investment Director, will be at PE Insights London on 4 September, which brings together its global private equity network to unpack the industry’s latest trends. We look forward to partaking in insightful conversations on which sectors hold new opportunities and to sharing our market outlook. We’re also excited to touch base with our industry peers after what has been an eventful summer for WPC. This will be swiftly followed by the BVCA ‘Partners for Growth’ Summit on 11-12 September. Our Managing Partner Jim Weight has been invited to attend the event’s first-ever exclusive UK Pensions Summit, which is dedicated to understanding the role that private capital can play in the new government’s economic growth plans. Jim will also be speaking at the 'Barbarians at the Gate: Lessons from the front-lines of cyber incident response' roundtable on day two. If you’re attending either event, do send us a message - we’d love to connect. #conference #privateequity #PEInsights #BVCA

At Weight Partners Capital LLP, we boast a strong track record of bringing big-company operational expertise to the UK lower-mid market since our inception in 2009. Over the years, we've invested in a wide range of businesses across the healthcare and consumer sectors. However, since identifying a critical investment gap in UK healthcare services, we decided to harness our expertise and focus exclusively on this industry; a market that allows us to live up to our values while generating outsized returns for our investors. As the UK’s only specialist fund acting in this market, we have a demonstrated history of investing in quality assets that deliver highest standards of care to customers and the surrounding communities. Our key investments in Grosvenor Health & Social Care and Towerview Care Group showcase the success of our targeted investment approach and highlight our commitment to transforming the healthcare landscape. It is thanks to our outstanding deal by deal track record, built over 15 years, that we have launched our first fund. If you’d like to hear more about our ambitions in the space and the impactful investment opportunities we can offer, please get in touch. #privateequity #investmentstrategy #healthcareservices
