The events industry has a choice. It can pay lip service to combating the climate crisis or it can do something about it. Where do you stand? Our film, The Climate is Changing and So Are We, features isla members who aren’t waiting for someone else to fix things—they’re taking charge together. Our members challenge the status quo, and prove that change is possible. A massive thank you to the isla members featured in the film and the over 2,500 event professionals who’ve been part of the isla membership over the last 4 years. We're proud to see you driving change, redefining what’s possible, and leading by example. 💚 👇 Venetia Campbell - Eclipse Global, Johnjoseph Ryan - Wood Fashioners, Aarron Mcgurk (AInstAM) - Chorus, Johannes Erasmus - d&b solutions, Marie Simpson (Soanes) - Identity, Rui Cruz Alves - Emota, Lauren Gowing - Collaborate Global, Alexis Parkin - 4Wall, Sam Robson - TAG, Connor Robertson - Smyle #SustainableEvents #EventProfs #EventProfsUK

Here to accelerate the event industry transition to a sustainable future.
About us
We work with agencies and brands, organisers and suppliers to provide guidance and support on environmental issues. We draw on expertise from across the sector to create a powerful network with the knowledge and confidence to facilitate change. Founded by events professionals and industry leaders, isla is a network and action-group. We bring together expertise from across the entire events sector and empower our teams with the confidence, knowledge and resources they need to implement new ways of working. Our focus is in three core areas: zero waste, 100% renewable, and carbon emission reductions. Our goal is to set short and long term targets in these areas and then track, measure, and report to support constant improvement. Through facilitation, education and reporting we will share knowledge, up-skill the industry and track our progress in order to rapidly and meaningfully affect change across our industry.

Are you on the naughty waste list? 🎄 What items on the event waste tree could you make more informed decisions on in 2025? As the year draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on what we’re leaving behind—both figuratively and literally. Let’s leave naughty waste lists and high-carbon-impact practices behind in 2024. 2025 is a new year, and it’s all about progress, not perfection. The first step? Start measuring your event or service’s carbon emissions. After all, measurable progress is the only kind that moves the needle forward. Let us know how you’re going to make better decisions in the coming year, below 👇 (Thank you to our brilliant Accounts & Partnerships Executive, Chris Smith, for creating this beautiful illustration - how lucky are we to have such talent in the isla team?!) #SustainableEvents #EventProfs #EventWaste

Do you want a shot at winning £50? Actually, make that 1 of 4 £50 prizes (or your equivalent currency) and double your chances if you’re quick. Some extra cash is exciting, but let’s talk about what’s even more important: helping to shape the year ahead for sustainability in the events industry. We’re inviting #eventprofs to participate in the NEW Annual Event Sustainability Survey to share what drives your sustainability efforts, what’s holding you back, and how you are making progress. Here’s the big picture: 💡 Your insights will contribute to the Temperature Check Report, the industry's most comprehensive resource for guiding the events industry on a continuous improvement pathway. 🕒 It only takes 5-10 minutes to complete. 🎉 And yes, you could win one of those cash prizes and double your chances of winning if you're among the first 100 respondents. 👉 Take the survey: https://lnkd.in/eax7MQYY? #sustainableevents #eventprofs

Sales role alert! 🚨 We’re looking for a Membership Development Manager to join our growing isla team, with a salary between £35-40k. Could it be you? Or someone you know? If you’re wondering what life at isla is like, Laura Allen started in her role back in July and this is what she had to say about her first few months working at isla 👇 ‘It might sound cheesy, but I really love my job. The people at isla and the culture we have is a huge part of that - we mostly work on a hybrid basis and I look forward to coming into the office for a catch up with the team and of course, the fab office coffee machine helps (plus biscuits)! We take lunchtimes very seriously and have frequent entire-team days, so we maintain strong connections with each other. Everyone is lovely, supportive and helpful and it is so rewarding to know you’re working for an organisation that is making a difference for the planet. When someone asks what I do for work, I feel very proud to say that I work for isla 😊’ Apply: https://bit.ly/4gr1FJN #JobAlert #JobSeeker

Thought of the day 💡 When it comes to reducing the carbon footprint of your events or services, it’s easy to feel like it’s too overwhelming to start - or for those already on the journey, to wonder if their efforts are making a difference. Here’s the truth: progress takes time. Every small step matters. So, whether you’re just starting or you’re deep into the process, the message is similar: JUST START or JUST KEEP GOING. Because the work you put in today will bear fruit tomorrow. What’s one small step you can take today? Let us know in the comments 👇 #SustainableEvents #EventProfs
