Joining us in this step up to the elite level are the Sheffield Eagles and Edinburgh Giants, promising a fresh, competitive edge to the league. In a statement, Chris Godfrey, the RFL’s National Inclusion Manager, praised the competitive applications and said: “New entries Sheffield Eagles, Edinburgh Giants, and returning Warrington Wolves will no doubt look to add a new edge to the competition.” 🏉 Coach Isaac Williams shared his thoughts on what this step means for the team:
“Returning to the Super League has always been our goal. We’re taking 2025 to fine-tune our skills, strengthen our squad, and ensure we’re ready to compete at the highest level. It’s a fantastic opportunity, and we’re excited to show what Warrington can bring to the elite division.” We can’t wait to see the team back where they belong, competing against the very best. • 🏉 Big news for the Warrington Wolves Wheelchair Rugby League team! 🐺 Starting from the 2026 season, we’ll be back in the Betfred Wheelchair Super League, joining Sheffield Eagles and Edinburgh Giants as exciting new additions to the elite platform. 🎉 The Wolves will remain in the Championship West Division for the 2025 season, allowing us valuable time to prepare for our return to the Super League. Our 2026 Super League season will feature thrilling clashes against Leeds, London, Halifax, Wigan, Hull FC, Sheffield, and Edinburgh. 🔥 Chris Godfrey, RFL’s National Inclusion Manager, said: “We’d like to thank all clubs who submitted applications and whilst the competition was high, there were eight applications that were identified as particularly strong who will now compete in the Betfred Wheelchair Super League for the 2025-2027 window. Whilst perennial powerhouses in the sport and previous Super League teams retained their places - once again showing via the applications why they are in the elite division - new entries Sheffield Eagles, Edinburgh Giants and returning Warrington Wolves will no doubt look to add a new edge to the competition.” But first, we’re focused on the 2025 Championship season, taking on Hereford Harriers, North Wales Crusaders, Rochdale Hornets, Salford Red Devils, and Widnes Vikings. 🏆 Let’s make this journey one to remember, Wolves fans! 💛💙 #WolvesWheelchair #SuperLeagueBound #Wheelchairrugbyleague Warrington Wolves The Rugby Football League
