Don't miss our next Vet Nurse Think Tank! The second instalment in our 'Beyond Error' series covers how we can support each other after making a mistake. But don't worry, even though this is the second part of the series, each session stands alone, so if you didn't manage to attend the first one, you'll still find it useful and informative. What do you feel after making a mistake? What do you need after making a mistake? How can you help to meet the needs of a colleague if they make a mistake? What could your employer or leader do to support you after a mistake? Join Rebecca Jones RVN and our fab community of nurses to discuss this sensitive topic - we can promise that conversations are confidential and supportive, and we always get wonderful feedback. Sign up here: www.vetled.co.uk/vntt to receive the link to attend. #vntt #vetnurse #vetnursethinktank #thinktank #vetnursecommunity #mistake #vetmistake #veterror #support #culture

VetLed reposted this
Have you ever been told you ‘just need to be more assertive’? Berated yourself for saying 'yes', again? Overloaded with work because 'no' didn’t feel like an option? Or felt unappreciated for all the times you go the extra mile and put yourself last? If so, then this blog is for you. I dive into People Pleasing, what it is, why you do it, who benefits, and why it shows up at work. And most importantly, five tips to stop people pleasing at work. Because there is a better way to live your life, at home and at work, than constantly seeking approval and acceptance from others. Click on the link in the chat to read the Blog ‘’Five ways to stop People Pleasing at work’’

Not ready to come back to reality yet? (or perhaps you haven't had much of a Christmas break this year anyway) We know how hectic this time of year can feel, so we've decided to push back the next Veterinary Patient Safety Forum meeting by a week, to give people a chance to really settle into 2025 - back to work, back to school, or just more of the same. What does Veterinary Patient Safety mean to you? It's nearly 2025 which means it's not long until SPVS! If you're going, make sure you attend Friday's group discussion with VetLed's Cat Auden, joined by Elly Russell, Emma Tallini, and Helen Silver-MacMahon. They'll be sharing and reflecting on the Patient Safety Visual that evolved during meetings with the Veterinary Patient Safety Forum. See you there! #spvs #spvs2025 #spvscongress #vetledspeakers #patientsafety #vpsf

Take a look at the data below! Wellbeing isn’t just a ‘nice to have’ - investing in wellbeing for your team makes business sense too 🙌
Author, "Lead to Thrive: The Science of Crafting a Positive Veterinary Culture" | Keynote Speaker | Positive Leadership Advocate | Workplace Culture Consultant
Workplace wellbeing isn't just good for people - it's good for business. One of the largest, most robust studies of its kind, led by Jan-Emmanuel De Neve (Economist & Director of the Oxford Wellbeing Research Centre) found that when workplace wellbeing thrives, so does company performance. But here's the kicker. The study found not only strong correlational data, they also found evidence suggesting a causal (!) relationship. Measured across nearly 1800 publicly traded (NASDAQ & NYSE) firms, companies with employee-rated workplace wellbeing scores of 3.5 or higher, compared to 2.5 or lower (on a 5 point scale) had: 📈 Over 20% higher Firm Value 📈 Nearly 40% higher Gross Profit 📈 Almost 50% higher profitability And employee self-rated wellbeing scores predicted firm performance up to 5 years out! So what fuels a sense of thriving at work? Money matters, of course. Compensation accounted for some of the variance in wellbeing scores. Some. But guess what matters MORE? 👩💼 Relationship w/Manager (nearly 2x more impactful than pay) 👫 A sense of Inclusion (almost 3x) 🎮 Opportunities for Autonomy & Flow (over 4x) 🫂 A sense of Belonging at work (over 4x) Workplaces where employees rated work wellbeing a 4 (out of 5) enjoy: 🔄 30% LESS turnover 🗒️ 25% MORE applications for open positions The top 100 companies by employee rated wellbeing scores outperformed the S&P 500 by 20% from 2021 to 2023! We've got work to do. Only 22% of employees are thriving at work while over 60% report feeling high levels of stress "almost all the time". We spend 25-35% of our adult lives "at work". Isn't it time we make workplaces more meaningful, more human, and ultimately more successful for everyone? Companies that invest in a human-centered approach will reap the rewards. It's the future of work and the future is now. To learn more, check out this video: https://lnkd.in/gtpryTfw To dig deeper, here's the study report: https://lnkd.in/gke_5wYH
