  • This year, we’ve been celebrating 50 years of the Unipart brand. From our beginnings in 1974 as the parts division of British Leyland to today being a supply chain performance improvement partner. We have achieved this through adapting and reinventing Unipart to deliver for customers in a diverse portfolio of sectors and markets. The most significant contributor to this success over the last half century has been our dedicated people, who go above and beyond for our customers each and every day. Throughout 2024 colleagues at our 80 sites around the world have been taking part in 50th anniversary celebrations, many of which were attended by CEO Darren Leigh, recognising Unipart’s history and the incredible journey that has led us to where we are today. As our 50th anniversary year draws to a close, here are some photos of those celebrations from around the world. Thank you to our people, our customers, suppliers, and local communities who have partnered with us in 2024, and the many years before. And thank you for following us. We look forward to bringing you more news, features and insight in 2025. In the meantime, we wish everyone the best for the festive season. #50 #Anniversary #Celebration #2024 https://lnkd.in/gKrZQRVG

  • Unipart has been providing a wide range of transformative technology and supply chain products, services and solutions to the global rail industry for three decades. Today our Remote Condition Monitoring (RCM) systems provide a critical solution for train operating companies looking to optimise rail operations and passenger experience, and ensure the long-term sustainability of rail services. By leveraging advanced sensors to capture data and powerful analytics, RCM provides real-time insights into the health of rolling stock and infrastructure enabling operators to switch from reactive to predictive maintenance schedules. Our latest case study explores how a number of UK train operating companies, including ScotRail, Cross Country, East Midlands Railway and Chiltern Railways utilise Unipart’s RCM solutions to predict and prevent defects that would otherwise take trains out of service. • We are delighted to continue supporting the digital transformation of UK railways, in partnership with Northern and Porterbrook. Northern is the latest UK Train Operating Company to install Unipart’s Remote Condition Monitoring (RCM) technology onto its trains. Designed, manufactured and supported by Instrumentel, our RCM solutions support rail operators to make informed, data-driven decisions that help to significantly lower costs, enhance safety and optimise the availability of assets and equipment. By reducing reliance on manual inspections, and identifying and eliminating faults before they occur RCM reduces the number of hours lost to unplanned maintenance and down-time. • Yesterday, Unipart Group attended the annual CBI (Confederation of British Industry) Conference, where the focus was on driving business growth and fostering collaboration across sectors. It was an honour to be referenced in CBI Chief Executive Rain Newton-Smith’s speech, highlighting Unipart’s pivotal role in the Midlands as a vital manufacturer and contributor to the region’s economic strength. The event provided a valuable platform for leaders from industry, academia, and government to explore innovative ways to unlock the UK’s potential for sustainable and inclusive growth. Unipart CEO Darren Leigh had the opportunity to meet with The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt Hon Rachel Reeves, to discuss the importance of the government’s commitment to investment in innovation, technology, and research and development through the National Wealth Fund. Unipart welcomes this forward-thinking initiative and emphasises the necessity of long-term industrial strategies that prioritise resilience and sustainability. Over the past decade, Unipart has leveraged government funding through Innovate UK and the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK to drive the transition from internal combustion engines to clean technologies, collaborating with universities and small businesses to scale impactful innovations. Darren Leigh commented, "If we’re to make the UK supply chain competitive with the rest of the world, we need government investment in industry and academic partnerships to be reaching the right mix of organisations who have experience of identifying and scaling new technologies in the marketplace." As a key player in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, clean energy, defence, digital technologies, and professional services, Unipart remains committed to working with all stakeholders to meet the challenges of decarbonising society and building a robust UK supply chain for the future. #CBIAnnualConference #Government #UKBusiness

Yesterday, Unipart Group CEO Darren Leigh and the Executive Leadership Team visited our colleagues in Portsmouth to celebrate and welcome Unipart's newest team members. They recognised the start of an exciting new chapter for the recently rebranded Unipart Polymer and Composite Solutions team. Following the recent acquisition, the leadership team formally honoured the hard work, resilience, and dedication of every individual who has contributed to this transition over the past few months. We were thrilled to have our long-term customer McLaren Automotive Ltd join us on the day, showcasing some of their world-class supercars as a testament to the incredible work our teams do to contribute to their success. Growing manufacturing capabilities through this recent acquisition has expanded Unipart's offering and aligns perfectly with Unipart’s growth strategy. It reinforces our commitment to enhancing and growing the UK supply chain - and solidifies the manufacturing and broader supply chain solutions we are able to offer our customers. #EmployeeRecognition #Acquisition #McLaren #Customer Adam Littlewood
