Twenty years ago, an idea became a reality – CPI was born ✨ We started with two people, one desk in the North East of England, and a clear vision for a better future. Nigel Perry MBE FREng, our former CEO and current board member, was one of those two people there on day one. He sat down with our current CEO, Frank Millar, at The Catalyst to revisit those early days, tell us the story of how CPI came to be, and reminisce over an incredible 20 years. The NHS England "The Innovation Ecosystem Programme – how the UK can lead the way globally in health gains and life sciences powered growth" was just published. The report highlights that the NHS is facing a pivotal moment or risk and opportunity and there is an urgent need to act. However, there is a clear sense that the UK can, and should , be the world's innovation test bed. The report proposes a number of reccomendations on what the NHS and its partners need to do to evolve the ecosystem towards the needs of the future through the testing, adoption and scaling of innovation for the benefits of patients and staff. My CPI colleagues Thea Tebble and Rahul Kapoor were honoured to partner on workstream 4 of this alongside Roland Sinker and Kristin Anne Rutter and a further broad range of world renowned experts and consultancies. https://lnkd.in/eiXfpdha Arun Harish Amita Randhawa Nicola Broughton Matthew Herbert
