As the Marketing and Communications Officer for the Physical Education, Sport, and Health Degree Cluster (PESH) at the University of East Anglia, I wanted to spend some time to reflect on my role during Semester 1 (September - December). In September I constructed a content calender, planning ahead of what would be posted weekly - with trips and important information scheduled. I communicated with Lecturers and Marketing Professionals at UEA to plan content. I also got intouch with the Year 1 Students’ Transition Officer to make sure that information directed towards the new students would be communicated effectively. I have created content on employability and placements for PESH students, posted about trips attended by all years, started a year abroad student series, shared current Lecturers successes outside of teaching, reposted suitable and relevant posts on the story, and provided useful tips and reminders to students throughout Semester 1. I have learnt new marketing and communication skills since starting this placement and have also attended workshops in ‘how to shoot a great video,’ as well as completing a digital marketing course. Since taking over the Instagram account the number of Instagram followers has increased. I hope to see this continue with my new ideas for the account going into 2025! 🥳🥂
