About us
TSA is the industry body for technology enabled care and organiser of The International Technology Enabled Care Conference - the largest event in Europe for this industry. TSA has over 350 member organisations representing commissioners, providers and suppliers of digital health and technology enabled care services in the UK. It is estimated that these services currently help over 1.7 million people to remain in their own homes (rather than hospitals, care homes and other institutional settings) – supported by their families, friends and carers in familiar surroundings. TSA works across health, housing and social care through a wide range of public services (NHS, local authorities, Fire and Rescue Services), housing associations, leading industry suppliers, independent and voluntary sector organisations. Everyday examples include: working with CCGs and social care to support people with heart failure, COPD, diabetes and dementia, working with Fire and Rescue Services on home safety checks to ensure that people have linked smoke alarms to reduce preventable deaths TSA has developed an industry recognised code of practice to ensure high standards are maintained from taking account of individual care needs to responding quickly to calls and alerts. Technology enabled care services (TECS) include a wide range of sensors, wearables, home hubs that use landlines, mobile phones and control centres in order to raise alerts, get urgent advice, prevent people going into hospital and support them on discharge so they do not get readmitted - providing important preventative support as well as responding to emergencies. Technology enabled care services (TECS), developed by NHS England and widely recognised by home nation governments include other commonly used terms such as telecare, telehealth, telecoaching, remote monitoring, mHealth together with some personal and home-based aspects of telemedicine, digital health and Internet of Things.

As the telecare landscape evolves, partnerships have never been more critical. Working collaboratively, TSA, Virgin Media O2, and Stockport-based Carecall have been at the forefront of ensuring that the transition from analogue to digital telecare services is smooth and effective - showcased recently with a highly effective and groundbreaking analogue to digital migration trial in Stockport. The collaboration is built on the understanding that we cannot continue with the status quo. The nation's ageing copper-based telephone network is increasingly outdated, with replacement parts becoming scarce and failure rates on the rise. The digital switch needs to happen — and it needs to happen now. The recent trial in Stockport stands as a testament to the power of equal collaboration. By joining forces, TSA, Virgin Media O2, and Carecall demonstrated that the digital migration process can be both seamless and efficient when organisations work together towards a common goal. The results showcase how working together can overcome challenges in both the analogue to digital and Digital Voice switchovers. The Stockport trial is a prime example of what can be achieved when all partners play an equal role in driving change.

**Webinar: Preparing for Change to 2G Mobile Telecare Networks** Virgin Media O2 (VMO2) has announced the withdrawal of global inbound roaming services on its 2G/3G networks from 1st October 2025. (https://lnkd.in/eYkW_48j) TSA is actively working with VMO2 to delay or reconsider this decision. However, we must also prepare for the possibility that the changes will go ahead as planned. To support TEC service providers and commissioners, TSA has been collaborating closely with key industry stakeholders to develop clear guidance and mitigation strategies. While 4G Telecare devices may experience minimal impacts, the most significant challenge will be for 2G-only Telecare devices. Available networks will be reduced to BTEE or Vodafone, which could have a considerable effect on service resilience across the UK. This webinar, hosted by TSA, is a critical opportunity to: - Gain access to the latest guidance and expert insights. - Understand the immediate actions needed to minimise risks and ensure service continuity. We strongly recommend that all TEC service providers and commissioners attend to remain fully informed and prepared. For more information and to sign up: https://lnkd.in/eUnKzGkS
