Trinity Media & Events Director Zayn Nabbi attended the Africa Sports Unified Connex Summit in London recently where he helped kick off the event by hosting a fireside chat with Jeremiah Mamabolo, who is South Africa's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The High Commissioner was in good form talking about how the country could play a leading role when it came to pan-African sports initiatives, the importance of sports business in stimulating the economy and how South Africa's rule of law ensured that brands, sponsors and investors can be confident that their investments will be safe. The summit is a fantastic day of thought-provoking panel discussions, and high-level networking for key stakeholders who work in the African sport ecosystem. Great job by Gabriel Ajala in organising this fantastic event at Charles Russell Speechlys. The US Elections might be over but there's a cross section of views the American public has about the result. It was important for our client in South Africa eNCA to hear from real people about the impact this will have to them and their lives. Our newsgathering team in New York took to the streets soon after the winner was known, and in between their several live shots doing breaking news, found people with passionate, and emotive responses, which were all very authentically different. This week Trinity Media owned property On The Whistle (OTW) was on the ground in Coventry reporting live around South Africa's game against England's Lionesses. The OTW crew provided coverage for broadcasters in South Africa, while also securing their own exclusive interviews with trailblazing coach Desiree Ellis and goalkeeper Kaylin Swart. It was a fruitful deployment as our broadcasters were able to provide insight and expertise on the significance of South Africa's performance and even though Banyana Banyana lost 2-1 to the European champs, it's still a team that has more than half the squad playing semi-professional football when compared to the fully professional set up England has. Our Director and founder Zayn Nabbi oversaw the cross-platform strategy and roll out plan for these exclusive pieces of content, alongside the brilliant broadcaster Darren Lewis and CNN Sport Digital Lead Patrick Sung Cuadrado for the network during the summer. Some 5X pieces were produced for CNN and WBD Sports linear and streaming platforms, while on social media the content had tens of millions of views, particularly the content around Vini speaking out about racism in Spanish society and football.
