🤨 “Close your eyes and hold out your hand” Over the last 3 years, I’ve planted nearly 200 Seeds of Happiness in the vacation rental industry, with the final 2024 seed landing in the palm of the one and only Will Guidara, author of "Unreasonable Hospitality." This week was a DARM good time, as Amy Hinote and her team promised us. The sessions were deep in knowledge, wide in wisdom, and high in hospitality. 🫶 John Suzuki opened with Heart, reminding us of the starfish story, how one person can make a difference 🤖 Simon Lehmann delved into how quickly AI will change the world as we know it 💬 Will Guidara wrapped up reminding us to give people stories to tell And, oh, the stories I’ve come home with: 📆 Looking at my calendar incorrectly and arriving at the Alday’s seafood boil almost an hour early, getting the opportunity to have a great conversation with Rachel Alday and Rob Alday. 🚘 Driving the wrong way with our golf cart (yes, we were THAT guest, shhhhhh) on our way to lunch with Sean Kemper and Brittany Blackman. 😱 I hear “Hello” from the dark third row of my Lyft ride as it pulls away, resulting in a weirdly memorable 5 minute ride. 🏔️ Sitting next to Jen Merlo and realizing I’ve stayed at one of her properties a few years ago. 🎈 A “Happy Birthday” balloon sweetly added to the Touch Stay booth (thank you Koryn Okey and Breezeway). ✨ All the wonderful hugs, conversations, and smiles with friends and clients both new and long-time. 🥩 One of the best dinner conversations I’ve had in a very long time, one that was exactly what I needed at the end of the conference, with 🎯 a closet dart champion 🏋️♂️ a gym addict 🍷 a should-be-a-sommelier 🌽 an Iowan 💕 the one who has been introducing himself as my part time manservant ☃️ Very much missed having Loren Pudlewski with me as she was stuck in the lake effect snow. Next time I see her, I'll be passing all the hugs to her that I received in her stead.
