Entrepreneurship is tough! Seeing the effort it takes for friends and family to not only take the brave steps to start, but also put in the work to grow their businesses means I respect all the effort that sometimes includes the random LinkedIn connection and pitch. So today, I want to do a bit of a pay-it forward for some of the companies recently that have reached out to me about their services in case their audience is also in my network! For transparency, I will also promote some of the companies I am partnered with, or have personal connections with and let you know who's who. DISCLAIMER: apart from the ones I partner with or close friends and family, I am not able to give any feedback about any of the other companies because I haven't worked with them. They weren't for me currently, but could be what someone else is looking for. First of all, my wife's (Rachael Odufisan) childcare business Awe Kids - they do beautiful, African-inspired clothing for children from babies up to 11 - https://lnkd.in/eJyWzUeS My friends' businesses: The Human Difference - Sunaina Kohli's incredible DEI consultancy transforming business performance and DEI success through inclusive cultures and authentic human connection. Then the companies I currently partner with: thriving - they have a variety to offerings to help you and your company navigate the wellbeing challenges of today, and build a robust wellbeing strategy - https://lnkd.in/egNJcmkJ Flexa - they work on both sides of the job hunt, helping people find the workplace where they’ll truly thrive, and helping forward-thinking companies to stand out from the crowd - https://flexa.careers/ Recently, I've also heard from: William Howell about his companies "the Right Project", a responsible fashion and creative industries consultancy with a focus on sustainability and wellness; and "Streamline Media, a platform designed to empower creators to take complete control of their work, by streamlining collaboration, file sharing, media management, rights tracking and royalty management. Jade Dunn a career coach with A Fertility Lens - they help people balance their careers with their fertility journey. Through 1:1 coaching and corporate speaking engagements they support employers in raising awareness on this under-discussed topic. Daniel Karim is an Independent Financial Adviser who provides a bespoke service to clients to optimise their pension planning. Shanice Tomlinson the co-founder of Orbit, a company looking to to empower organisations to build inclusive cultures where women and working parents can thrive. Finally, not quite an entrepreneur, but at Somerset House we do work with entrepreneurs in the creative sector, so if you're looking for a workspace, office space or are interested in learning more about the opportunities to join our community of incredible creatives at the Home of Cultural Innovators, check us out here: https://lnkd.in/eYCkJwCq

Last week, we hosted in Dubai the Pathway to SMD training, a learning & development initiative focused on preparing our senior team members to step into the role of future leaders. During the training, participants engaged in discussions and interactive sessions on leadership development, honing their ability to identify opportunities, influence outcomes and lead with confidence. And, of course, they worked on their painting skills. #LeadershipDevelopment #PathwayToSMD #DiscoverFTIDelta #ProfessionalGrowth

It was such a pleasure to run a series of thriving workshops for QRS Deloitte to help Directors with their own personal resilience, and support them as leaders to build and sustain a healthy high performance culture. Some of the feedback from the sessions: "If I could bottle the energy and feeling that we all took away from the sessions … I would be a millionaire!" "The learning and growth that comes out of this in-person session will help us all be better at the day job - and happier doing it. It isn't a magic wand, but it gives you the tools to make your own magic." "It's great to feel so invested in." Massive thank you to Julie Jensen for organising, Sarah Mills for sponsoring and David Thirlwell for being such a positive role model. #BeWellAndThrive #Wellbeing #Leadership

A lot of people think of wellbeing as the ‘soft’ side of a business. But the numbers tell us something different. “How many CFOs do you think know about this?...” That’s what a good friend of mine asked when he saw the infographic below. Indeed Deloitte have found that for every £1 invested in wellbeing, there is a £3 to £15 return on investment, averaging at £5. That’s 400% RoI! Is this really surprising? From my experience, I certainly feel that healthy people means healthy business. And, in the wake of The Great Resignation, I think that most of us can agree that happy healthy colleagues are more likely to stay. What do you think? #BeWellandThrive #Wellbeing #Resilience #ROI

  • Today is NOT employee appreciation day. What better occasion to remind your colleagues how much you appreciate them? 😁 Okay, we're being a bit cheeky. But the truth is that many people wait until they get their yearly reminder before they show active appreciation to the people who have actually been doing great work all year. It’s like only calling your mother on Mother’s Day… It’s nice that you remembered, but wouldn’t it be better to check in all year? A poll from Glass Door reveals that appreciation is the number 1 reason why people leave - so we know how important this is… And yet, a survey by OnePoll reveals that 63% of people feel unappreciated by their employer on a daily basis. Isn’t that just staggering? But how can you make your colleagues feel more valued? We'd love to hear. Put your suggestions in the comments below. 👇 #BeWellAndThrive

  • As we come out of Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re taking a moment to stop and reflect on some of the fantastic organisations we’ve been working with this month. Delivering wellbeing sessions for CNA Hardy, Deloitte, Lloyd's and Money and Pensions Service, to help drive positive change within their teams, and to support their people to be thriving more of the time was such a pleasure. It was great to see such levels of engagement across the groups we met with, and we’re really looking forward to supporting more teams as we move into summer. #BeWellAndThrive #Wellbeing https://lnkd.in/eUDJvctn

  • Ever noticed how a yawn in a meeting room can set off a chain reaction? Wellbeing is just as contagious — but it leaves an even more impactful mark… Especially when it’s your company’s leaders who are feeling energised and well. We all know that if the CEO starts the day with a smile and a lighthearted joke, it’s most likely to go much better — for everyone — than if she clutches her coffee with a frown. 😄 And the influence of thriving leaders doesn't just end within the bounds of their department, meetings, or their email signature. The ripple effect of happy leaders extends far beyond: 🚀 Supercharging the productivity of inspired teams across the organisation 🤝 Improving the connection and gaining the affinity of partners and clients ☕️ Making tea breaks even more enjoyable 😉 At thriving, we're all about harnessing the power of thriving leaders to create a wellbeing wave that uplifts your entire organisation, starting with the group that has the most influence on your culture: your leaders. Let's spread some wellbeing vibes that bounce off walls and light up faces.
