What a year it's been! As we approach the close of 2024, we can't help but reflect on the incredible milestones we've achieved this year. It's been a year of growth, celebration, and meaningful connections, and we’re excited to share some of our top highlights with you. Some of our highlights this year were in May our London office celebrated its 1st Birthday, in June our Shrewsbury office took on Krazy Races, in September one of our directors had a business trip to Denmark, in October and November we opened a brand new office in Liverpool and our London team moved to a new home. We've had another busy year but none of this would have been possible without the support of our incredible team, clients, and partners. As we close out this year, we want to say a massive THANK YOU! to each and every one of you who has been part of this journey. 2025 promises to be even bigger, and we can’t wait to continue this journey with all of you. Lancaster's Christmas Jumper Day Today is officially Christmas Jumper Day and the Lancaster Office is fully getting into the Christmas spirit, this year we're not only wearing our best Christmas Jumper but we have decided to support and raise money for a local charity. We have chosen to support St John's Hospice this year, which puts local patients and families first to ensure that they are given the best care on the journey towards the end of life. The Christmas party season is well and truly underway, as the Lancaster office had their Christmas meal last Saturday. 🎄 The night started off with some of the team meeting up for a drink,🍷 before heading to the main event. At the end of the working week, everyone was ready to let their hair down and enjoy everyone's company which was filled with laughter, festive cheer, and plenty of good memories. We all sat down and enjoyed a 3-course meal, with most of us having a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, 🦃 which was a highlight of the night. Overall everyone had a wonderful evening and was a great way to start the festive season but also the camaraderie and friendships that make our workplace so special.

Christmas Jumper Day! 🎄🎅🏻 Today, Our Shrewsbury office is having its Christmas Jumper Day. This Year, the office has decided to support a local charity. The office has decided to support Severn Hospice, which provides specialist care and support free of charge to families across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales who are living with an incurable illness. Last month two from our Lancaster office have been on the Movember journey, Steve Bridges and Juan Ibiapina have been trying to grow a Mo 🥸 for the last month to raise money for Movember. Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, who prioritise funding for the three biggest health issues facing men: mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. A Congratulations are in order! Here at Thomas Consulting, we want to say a huge congrats to one of our Engineers Callum Sale, and his wife Kate on welcoming a baby boy!! 👶🏻🍼💙 Toby Kieran Andrew Sale was born on November 19th, weighing 7lb 8oz. Toby's middle names have a lovely sentimental meaning as they are a nod to Callum's and his partner's dad's names, who sadly both passed away within the last two years. Mum and baby are doing well and are home. He enjoys going to the park but, most importantly, only waking up once through the night!! So mum and dad are sleeping quite well, which is very surprising. Congratulations to Callum & Kate.

Thomas Consulting was represented at the Institution of Structural Engineers Structural Awards 2024 gala dinner by invited guests Mike Hooper and James Gendall. Whilst Mike and James both were in attendance, they attended as guests for different organisations. Mike attended as a guest of the IStructE where he sits on their council and is involved in the regional group as a secretary. James attended as a guest of Trimble, but he is also involved with IStructE on the examination group for the chartered Members Exam. Both had a very enjoyable evening and it was an honour to be invited, the awards were presented to projects from most parts of the world with the winning Engineers traveling to the event in London. Congratulations are in order to all that were nominated and the winners on the night!

On November 9th, one of our associates, Seb Warren, who works in our Chorley office, took part in Santa's Jingle All The Way, a 15-mile charity walk from Chorley to the top of Rivington Pike and back to Chorley. Santa's Jingle All The Way was created in 2016 to help raise money for a chosen charity each year by asking everyone to dress in Santa Outfits while completing the 15-mile walk. This year the money raised will be going towards Derian House, a charity helping children & young people with life-limiting conditions and their families. Seb had this to say about how the day went; "It was a great day, I really enjoyed it. The weather was in our favour which helped, and lots of money was raised". This Week it's Self-Care Week! It is important to make time for yourself, not just in your free time but at work as well.
