Empathy in Fertility Care: How to Prevent Patient Drop-Outs 🤔 👉 Did you know that many patients experience a grieving period after a negative result in #fertility treatment? Research shows that this emotional response can last for at least a month, and it’s a completely normal part of the journey. 👉 During this time, a break in #treatment can be incredibly beneficial, allowing individuals the space to reflect, heal, and mentally prepare for the next steps. However, if feelings of distress persist beyond this period, it’s crucial that #patients are referred for psychological support to help them cope with the #emotional impact 🤗 👉 Fertility specialists, including #doctors and nurses, must be attuned to the emotional needs of their patients at every stage of treatment. It’s not just about the science — understanding a patient’s #emotional state is just as important. Unlike treatments using one’s own eggs or #sperm, #donor conception involves decisions that extend beyond conception itself.
