  • Immersive, Energising and Inspiring ... That's my 'What 3 Words' sum-up for the recent on-line workshops with the wonderful people at Homeless Link, exploring the foundations of successful projects through a mix of discussion, group tasks, reviewing and reaching conclusions. Their vision is to help England become a country free from homelessness... WOW! What an inspiring ambition. Every day the teams at Homeless Link work to bring about positive transformation for individuals and communities. It was humbling and life affirming for me to spend the day with people who make such a positive difference to individuals, communities and society at large through the vital and mostly unseen work that they do. Here's my conclusion: yet again I am deeply moved and blown away by what people do to make a positive difference to the lives of others, and how much they care. I'm also reminded how experience and skill resides in individuals and teams; and how often people don't appropriately value their contribution and the difference they make. What can you do to help those around you recognise the positive difference they make? For over 60 years Coverdale has been helping organisations develop individuals and teams, harnessing a Systematic Approach to getting things done and making their vision a reality. If you are looking for a partner to journey with in realising your organisation's vision, do get in touch. coverdale.co.uk

  • This is a picture of a high-performing team! A team of 3 Coverdale Coaches at the end of a Manager Academy in Mexico City, delivering the entire 4-day programme in Spanish! I am in awe of anyone who can speak a foreign language with such fluency, let alone in a skill development programme where clear communication and connection matters so much. Big kudos and huge thanks to Shannon Jakes, Ph.D. Heather Foran and Verena Stresing #leadershipdevelopment coverdale.co.uk

  • The Biggest Silent Killer For Organisations What’s one of the biggest killers of high performance for individuals, teams and organisations across the globe? Ineffective strategy, poor financial management, inefficient processes?      In our experience it’s one simple thing, which, if harnessed properly, turns individuals, teams and organisations into powerhouses of positive change. Purpose. Ralph Coverdale was promoting the importance of purpose in the 1960’s, and in today’s uncertain and complex world it’s more crucial to human wellbeing and performance than ever before. Purpose drives everything – we are human after all – and clarity of purposes shapes the core health of an organisation. When people lack clear purposes, there’s a feeling of disorientation and dislocation from their work and their personal sense of purpose. Here’s what happens… Productivity Drain: Without a clear purpose, we don’t know where to focus. Motivation dwindles, leading to decreased productivity. Individuals and teams feel adrift, impacting the quality and efficiency of their work – and how they feel about it, and themselves. Diminished Engagement: Purpose fuels engagement. Without it, enthusiasm wanes, and disengaged employees can act as a drag on team morale, creativity, and collaboration. Impact on Self-Efficacy: A lack of purpose – for tasks, projects, the organisation – will negatively affect how people see themselves and the work they do. Ambiguity is a burden that people have to carry and this impacts how we see ourselves and the contribution we are making. High Turnover: A clear and compelling organisational purpose is a magnetic force for talent retention. Without it, employees may seek opportunities where their contributions align with a clearer and worthier purpose, leading to increased turnover and recruitment costs. Investing in a clear organisational purpose isn't just a feel-good strategy; it's a strategic imperative and key to enabling focus and unlocking potential. For over 60 years Coverdale has been helping organisations discover and deliver their purpose. #organisationalpurpose #employeeengagement coverdale.co.uk

  • Knowing your role is different to knowing WHY you do it! It's a central theme we've been exploring with Oxalis Logistics UK leaders. A key thread running through this programme is all about PURPOSE - connecting the content of our roles (the what) with why we are doing it - i.e. the purposes of the role. Asking 'Why'? is the alerting question which keeps us on track with discovering and implementing purpose driven lives. It gives us orientation, direction, motivation, connection. It's a source of resilience, wellbeing, satisfaction, joy. As one of the Oxalis leaders puts it ... "...the value of understanding job roles and their purposes, how they align and intertwine, is vital. It helps us work on what matters most for the whole team and ecosystem..." So, today take a moment to connect the content of your role with the purposes of the role - connecting what with why. #purposedriven #purposeled #organisationalpurpose coverdale.co.uk For over 60 years Coverdale has been helping individuals and teams around the globe discover their 'why'.

  • 3 Things You Need for Life in 2024 At the start of the year, it's healthy to reflect on the year gone by and ponder on the year ahead. At the dawn of this year, which I'm sure will hold plenty of opportunity, curve balls and challenges I'm reminded about what it takes to make your way in life. Our Founder, Ralph Coverdale put it like this: "To make way in life you need three things: A deep sense of inner purpose and the will to renew it. A clear vision of where you want to get to, and the energy to pursue it. And courage. Courage to take steps which others might fear to take." So, if like me, you identify with these principles, then you're already part of the Coverdale family. If like me, you or your organisation needs a helping hand from time to time let's chat. We've been helping organisations discover purpose and the tools to pursue it for over 60 years. #purposedrivenbusiness #organisationaldevelopment #organisationalpurpose
