Last week marked World AMR Awareness Week, and it raised a critical question: How does climate change intensify health challenges like antimicrobial resistance (AMR)? 🌍💊 Without action, drug-resistant infections could cause 10 million deaths annually by 2050 and result in a 3.8% loss of annual global GDP by 2050 (World Bank estimates). Rising temperatures, extreme weather, and melting permafrost are accelerating the spread of resilient pathogens; creating a perfect storm for global health. But there’s hope.
