About us
The Albion Foundation uses the power of football to make a measurable, positive difference, raising aspirations, growing and fulfilling potential in local people of all ages, gender, ethnicity and socio-economic backgrounds. We pride ourselves on growing our own staff to live by our core values, be happy in their work and be proud to deliver the highest quality provision in three key areas of Education & Engagement, Sport Development & Disability Sport. We are recognised locally and nationally for our valued partnerships which tackle key issues and truly inspire our participants to achieve. The quality of our work and the impact we achieve enables us to create surplus funds which are reinvested to "give back" and provide more opportunities to change lives for the most deprived, as we connect West Bromwich Albion Football Club to its community. We employ 47 full-time and 93 part-time staff, supplemented by more than 140 volunteers whose aim is to "Inspire to Achieve" on a daily basis. Our strategic principles are as follows: 1- To make a difference and raise aspirations. 2- To connect West Bromwich Albion Football Club to its local community. 3- To grow our people and participants. We have a clear vision for the future of the Foundation where we strive to be the best deliverer of education and engagement, sport development and disability sport activities in the country.

We're taking a look back at some of our favourite moments from the last 12 months. From the Premier League Kicks Cup to raising mental health awareness, providing direction and thought-leadership to more than 100 professional football club charities, to the formation of a new partnership with the National Police Chiefs' Council, it's been quite a year. As we celebrate the impact of 2024, we want to recognise the support of every member of our team, the commitment from our partners and funders and the dedication of the people who make up our network of more than 100 professional football club charities. Without you, none of this would be possible. Revisit our round up of the first half of the year here 👉 https://lnkd.in/e6brunWb Now, let's take a look at July to December 👇 #PLMoreThanAGame

🗣️ "Now our girls' sessions are really starting to pick up, to the point that we are able to bring these girls with us to this tournament, to do something they've never done before. "It's valuable for the girls. Not many of them have been on international trips before so it's a really good experience.”
“Premier League Kicks is about being part of the wider community, meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, doing new things.” Earlier this month, participants from four Premier League Kicks programmes travelled to the Belgian city of Ypres to take part in the Under-18 girls' Premier League Kicks Truce Tournament. As well as the action on the pitch, the event was also an educational and cultural experience which allowed the 32 girls to learn about the sacrifices made by servicemen and women in the First World War. Delivered by the Premier League Charitable Fund, the #PLKicks Truce Tournament is one of the competition elements of The Premier League's flagship and longest-running community programme, Premier League Kicks, and celebrates the League's commitment to increasing opportunities for girls and young women to play. We spoke with Aaliyah Browne, Female Engagement Lead at The Albion Foundation, to hear about the impact the tournament had. Aaliyah shared insights on the power of football, the unique opportunities the programme provides, and how events like the Truce Tournament show that football is truly for everyone👉 https://lnkd.in/eumg_WTG #PLMoreThanAGame

🗣️"It's such a privilege for the Premier League to bring us out here. It's such a memorable experience getting to understand the factual stuff as well as the football. Walking around as part of a big company, wearing your club badge and representing the Premier League is something I’ll take with me for life.” #PLMoreThanAGame
“Representing the Premier League is something that will live with me forever” Earlier this month, 32 girls from across England and Wales had the opportunity of a lifetime as they headed to Belgium to take part in the Under-18 girls' Premier League Kicks Truce Tournament. During the three-day event, as well as competing on the pitch, the girls took part in educational and cultural activities, to learn about the sacrifices made by servicemen and women in the First World War. This included an evening ceremony at the Menin Gate to commemorate the fallen and an immersive experience of the trench conditions suffered by the soldiers. We spoke with four girls from Chelsea Football Club Foundation, The Albion Foundation, Swansea City AFC Foundation and Saints Foundation, who shared their experience of the tournament and the impact #PLKicks has had on them 👉 https://lnkd.in/eWXrzrNc #PLMoreThanAGame

It's Day 21 of our 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫! 📆 We thoroughly enjoyed bringing our SEND and October Football Camp participants to The Hawthorns to give them a great day out at West Bromwich Albion Football Club's Open Training Day. It was a fantastic morning, where participants had the chance to watch the teams train, and enjoy Foundation-led activities.
