One last job before the Christmas break. Dozens of staff are out and about this morning, making deliveries of Christmas dinners to those who will be spending Christmas alone this year. The dinners, kindly prepared by The Pavilion in Llandarcy, have been made possible thanks to donations from our ever-generous staff and our friends at Electrical Innovation. Their kind donation meant we could deliver even more dinners than we originally planned, as well as having enough money left over to make donations to local food banks. Merry Christmas to everyone. Great to officially open our new Clos Castan development. Situated just outside Neath, this is our biggest development to date with 52 new family homes, bungalows and flats being built. We were joined by some of the new residents, local councillor Wayne Carpenter as well as Noah from Melin Primary who came up with the Clos Castan name. As well as opening the site, we buried a time capsule featuring some artefacts found on the site just before building work began and includes some bottles, coins and a hand-forged horseshoe, probably belonging to one of the horses that used to plough the farmland on which the houses now stand. Also included were some drawings by Noah and friends showing their every day lives to give future generations an insight into what life was like for children back in 2024. We wonder what future generations will make of them when the capsule is dug up sometime in the future.
