Great to see Ash Mahoney getting some practice in ready for Vegas in January. Ash will be competing on the Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) fastest trowel on the block in the bronze lot at the World of Concrete which is also home to the famous SPEC MIX bricklayer 500. There’s a lot of excitement from our US friends as we prepare to make the trip over, yes it’s competition but most of all this is camaraderie a love and respect for the craft but most of all to keep inspiring that younger generation. Super Trowel’s First-Ever Charity Event🌟 This year, we rolled up our sleeves (and donned our best clay-shooting gear!) to host Super Trowel's inaugural Charity Day in support of the amazing Band of Builders and their incredible mission. We invited brickwork sub-contractors, sponsors and friends of the trade to join us for what’s set to become an annual highlight—a day packed with networking, fundraising and good old-fashioned fun. From testing our aim at the clay range to connecting with some of the best in the business the day was nothing short of brilliant. 🌍 Super Trowel: A Sustainable Competition 🧱 From clay to car park, Super Trowel has made sustainability a core part of its mission. THE FULL CIRCLE It begins with every brick laid during the Super Trowel Final, which doesn’t go to waste. With the help of our sustainability sponsor, Tigerbite Mini Crushers, the bricks are crushed and repurposed. This year, the crushed materials were donated to a non-profit fishery in Essex, where they were used to create an accessible car park for fishermen. We couldn’t have done it alone! A huge thank you to Altrad Belle for bringing their equipment and hands-on support to help with the construction of the car park. Their contribution was greatly appreciated. The journey comes full circle: from visiting the factory where the wienerberger UK bricks are made, to ensuring they’re reused in ways that give back to the community. Super Trowel also supports sustainability at the grassroots level. Each regional college participating in the competition is equipped with brand new training mortar and bricks, which are then used by learners throughout the next academic year.
