Keeping Children Happy, Healthy and In School
About us
Studybugs (studybugs.com) is a unique, live online platform that enables all responsible parties – local authorities, schools, academy trusts, NHS, parents and more – to work together closely to keep children happy, healthy and in school. Studybugs has been built with backing from the Department for Education, the NHS, UK Research and Innovation and the Open Data Institute among others, and is used by a rapidly growing list of local authorities, more than 4,000 schools and several hundred thousand parents. Our passion is improving school attendance. In the current attendance crisis, we are working hard to help schools, trusts and LAs with their attendance strategy. This includes accurately recording and monitoring attendance, making it easier and quicker to understand and act on data, meeting statutory obligations and putting the DfE's Working Together guidance into practice. Was great to have Kingsnorth English Hub and Studybugs join our HT zone meeting this morning. Huge thanks to Steph and Sarah from the hub and Natalie from Studybugs. It is always nice to have the opportunity to listen to other voices and hear and the great work going on in schools and education.

What do you think of this idea? 💡 #schoolattendance #persistentabsence #schoolleadership #headteacher #schoollife https://lnkd.in/e9mq92dk

Pupils don't just go to school to pass their exams, they also learn about the world around them, build social skills, friendships and gain a sense of belonging. The Government is committed to taking action against low school attendance by introducing more mental health support in secondary schools, breakfast clubs in all primary schools and better SEND support. Tackling this issue requires schools, parents, trusts and local authorities to all work together. New statutory attendance guidance, coming into effect from today, offers: A support-first approach to attendance. Where appropriate, legal intervention against term time holidays, including nationalised penalty notices. Rebuilding relationships between schools, local government, and families as they work together. Find out more ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eGNAtuqH
