An action packed session down in Dublin today with TechFoundHer hosted by KPMG Ireland. I have been selected to take part in this Innovation Labs programme, along with 34 other female founders. We’re almost half way through the programme and it was great to finally meet everyone in person. We focused on how to start with a big list and whittle down to that one big priority! This project along Belfast’s Loughshore is almost complete. Our client is a teacher and will be retiring soon to enjoy living in her reinvented home. This post-war house has been genuinely transformed. The cellular layout has been opened up and new window openings provide a connection to a private garden. The roof to the rear of the property was removed and the new vaulted ceiling provides the WOW factor. A simple material palette of white walls, timber doors & floors and earthy grey-green window frames and kitchen cupboard doors makes this home feel like a beach house retreat. Roof trusses were delivered to our site in Co. Sligo today, and installation is well underway. Raised tie trusses at the rear of the house will provide a partially vaulted ceiling and extra height in the main kitchen, dining and living area. The profile of the rear gable is now visible - a traditional form with a large window opening that provides a view out to Streedagh beach and Sliabh Liag cliffs in Co. Donegal beyond. We are delighted to share some photos of our recently completed project in Belfast. Our client wanted to modernise and reconfigure their home with a new kitchen & utility, and an improved layout that better suited their needs. Large expanses of glazing bring in plenty of natural light and provide a physical and visual connection to the garden. Externally, dated brickwork was covered up with cladding and new paving & landscaping finished everything off beautifully.
