About us
𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱-𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲. We train over 10,000 young people affected by violence each year; both in the physical and psychological consequences of street violence. We put young people at the centre of emergency first-aid provision and empower them to become part of the solution to violence. Our training is delivered by our movement of young healthcare volunteers (nurses, paramedics and doctors) who work in partnership with a wide variety of services where young people may be active: criminal justice services, schools, pupil referral units, youth, sports and community groups. All our work is trauma informed, meaning we work closely with our partners to ensure young people are supported in preparation for our session, during the running of the session, and long after the session is complete. Thank you to StreetDoctors for an impactful bleed control session at our youth centre! Creative Optimistic Visions We’re incredibly grateful to the StreetDoctors team for delivering an engaging and informative session with our young people. Teaching them vital first aid skills and how to respond to a bleed not only empowers them with life-saving knowledge but also builds confidence in staying calm during emergencies. The session was a real eye-opener for many, sparking meaningful conversations about safety, responsibility, and community. It’s clear the impact of these sessions goes far beyond the practical skills taught – it fosters resilience and awareness among young people. Thank you again, StreetDoctors for your dedication to equipping young people with tools to save lives and make a difference. 💜 #YouthEmpowerment #StreetDoctors #CommunityImpact

❤️ 🖤 "We're not just teaching first aid; we're empowering young people to become potential lifesavers"
📢 Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to showcase StreetDoctors at the Derby VRU 35th Hope Hack event! I presented our emergency incident guide, demonstrating vital techniques for stopping severe bleeding. The highlight was seeing young people actively engage with our 'AS ALERT' demonstration - it's always inspiring to watch them gain confidence in life-saving skills. These moments remind me why our work at StreetDoctors is so crucial. We're not just teaching first aid; we're empowering young people to become potential lifesavers in their communities. Huge thanks to Tremayne Blair, Beth Womersley, Derby & Derbyshire Violence Reduction Unit & Derby Theatre for hosting us and to all the young people who participated with such enthusiasm. Together, we're making a real difference in violence reduction and emergency response readiness. #YouthEmpowerment #ViolenceReduction #CommunityImpact #FirstAid #StreetDoctors #DerbyVRU #HopeHack #EmergencyResponse #CommunityEducation
