About us
Stiff+Trevillion makes elegant, human-centred architecture that stands the test of time. Our work is confident, unpretentious and tasteful, using simple materials in a painterly way to sit with poise within its context. Architecture is an inclusive, social profession: we work with clients, artisans, builders and bureaucrats to create tangible, three-dimensional outcomes. There are around 65 people in our busy, friendly, west London studio. To reflect the breadth of our portfolio, we share a wide range of skills. Our team not only includes architects, but also technicians, modelmakers, visualisers, interior and product designers. We believe design can deliver change. In the face of the climate emergency, our best action as architects is to make that change through our work, building on the fundamentals of volume and light, minimising waste and putting the existing fabric first.

This is wonderful recognition for a masterful work by Hugo Dalton
Congratulations to ‘Grass Forms’ created by Hugo Dalton which has been Highly Commended in the 2024 ‘Art in Stone’ category in the Natural Stone Awards organised by the Stone Federation Great Britain As longterm collaborators with Dalton, we felt this project offered the ideal ‘blank canvas’ for art & architecture. And an opportunity to enhance this new building’s civic presence. An imposing large-scale commission for Native Land for the façade of OneThreeSix, a mixed use scheme we completed in 2021, on London’s Edgware Road. Dalton’s limestone sculptural relief is embedded into the front of the building. Inspiration came from the long swaying grasses in nearby Hyde Park and provides a pocket of calm in the frenetic life of the city. With thanks to Szerelmey, Marmi Faedo and Osbourne

A new tenant and chapter for our building at 15 Bishopsgate Stiff + Trevillion Architects
15 Bishopsgate will soon become Allianz's new UK headquarters, with the company set to join the Tower 42 Estate in 2025. The 54,000 sq ft office space at 15 Bishopsgate barely reached the market before being identified as a prime relocation opportunity for Allianz. And, as part of our shared environmental ambitions, the upcoming refurbishment will target EPC A, by making the building 'all-electric'. We're really looking forward to welcoming Allianz to the Estate. #community #news #commercialrealestate #Tower42Estate

Two massive deals in two weeks at the Tower 42 Estate, and both a brilliant reflection of the diversity of options we can offer in the heart of the City. We're really excited to have exchanged an agreement with Dalata Hotel Group for a new hotel at 20 Old Broad Street, subject to planning. We think that will provide a great new amenity for our 80+ occupiers, and be a game changing addition to the City. This week we've also announced that 15 Bishopsgate will be Allianz's new UK HQ, following a comprehensive refurbishment of the building to complete next year. Both deals reflect the scale, scope and profile of such a unique Estate and we can't wait to welcome both companies. There are more opportunities to come, both in the City and elsewhere!

Much of what we do as an industry is concealed from view – either behind hoarding or within in the confines of buildings. We love that everyone – from clients, to end-users, project team members, and oftentimes passersby and the public – gets to enjoy the finished result, but it’s the journey to get there that we relish at Storey. We’d like to take you behind the scenes of our project at 188 City Road, originally built as the head office of The Lipton Tea Company, with the recent completion of demolition works onsite. The three upper levels of the building have now been removed, along with the existing core, with space made way for the new relocated core which will allow for expansive open-plan floor plates. We look forward to the commencement of steelwork installation just before Christmas and completion of the project (some visuals included below), a net zero carbon in operation office redevelopment, in 2025. As 2024 draws to a close, Michael Stiff reflects on another bumpy year for architects and those in working in construction. Occasional glimmers of hope during the year seemed to wax and wane and 2025 looks set to offer its own challenges too. Roll on 2026.
