Important Update!   After 12.5 years, I’m departing Stage Engage and heading into the world of freelance. It’s going to be a change but one I am very much looking forward too!  Within my new adventure I shall be available as a Freelance Production Manager & Technical Delivery Expert and also happy to be a general all round person on your projects. One of my first onsite events at Stage Engage was the Carol Concert at Exeter City Football Club, 12.5 years later one of my last shows at Stage Engage was the Carol Concert! It was somewhat emotional onsite if I’m honest.   I want to take this moment and thank all of my Colleagues, Clients and Suppliers for the support and memory’s we have all made over the years and I know this is very much not the end!   A special thanks goes to STAGE ENGAGE & Christian Ablett who plucked me out of school at 16 and gave me the opportunity to grow into the industry I’ve loved! Over the 12.5 years I’ve taken on virtually every role at the company what has made me into the person I am today! Apprentice, Technician, Project Manager, London Operations Manager, Managing Director through Covid & Operations Director    I got asked the other day “what’s the biggest challenge you’ve had over your career at SE?” Back in 2018 after setting up for a large awards ceremony in London a water tank ruptured above the ballroom ceiling 90- minutes before doors! Whatever equipment we could get out hands on went to the hotel across the road to set up for the evening awards!  We manged to pull this massive feet off with only a small delay! This is what keeps you on your toes in this industry and only experience can teach you how to adapt and respond! Its also goes without saying having the right team keeps a show moving and none of the above would of happened without them! I received a kind quote from Christian Ablett – MD of Stage Engage:  “After working with Cameron for over 12.5 years, I have bittersweet feelings, sad on one hand that he isn’t with us full time, but super excited for what he is about to embark on next. Cam is a super person to have on your team. He is ultra reliable, professional, knowledgeable, and very passionate about what he does. Thinking creatively is important and it doesn’t have to cost more. 💡 It’s one of the key things I think we thrive in at Stage Engage - coming up with ideas that look different and really impressive within budget. 💭 We recently delivered this event for my friends at Communicate magazine. Complete sound, lighting, fabrication and AV production for the #iceawards. We used fabricated black panels with sequin material, uplit with lights and installed our custom LED strip lights inbetween to create a really nice background for the stage. We installed logos on video screens front centre of the stage and also on each of the lecterns to avoid additional printing to reduce waste. All rounded off with 2 large foor to ceiling LED video walls, stage, sound and lots of lighting by our team. And the end resault was one that the client was very impressed with. Taking events to the next level… Here me and my colleagues took care of all the design & technical production for the Hair and Beauty Awards 2024 in the ICC in Birmingham. I had the pleasure of personally producing and operating the visuals for the event on the huge multi canvas LED wall. The Kenitic LED Globes were a really nice addition on this event, and definitely a great idea for any event to give extra depth and interest to the stage design.
