  • Time is running out to get your Christmas tree collected! 🎄 Skip the pine needle mess in the back of your car and let us tick a job off your January to-do list. This winter we've partnered with Just Helping to run a Christmas tree collection service in Crawley (RH10 and RH11), Horsham (RH12 0/1/2/4/5/6, RH13 0/5), East Grinstead (RH19 1/2), Redhill (RH1/2/6) and Reigate (RH2 0/7/9) Simply register online and then leave your tree outside your home on Friday 10 January and our “tree”-mendous team of volunteers will take it away on Friday 10 or Saturday 11 January, in return for a donation to our hospice. We suggest £15, but we’re grateful for whatever you can afford. Bookings close 23.59 on Sunday 5 January. Don’t miss out: https://lnkd.in/ehdyaxdc

  • A huge congratulations to Lisa, one of our wonderful Receptionists, who marked an incredible 15 years of service at our hospice last month! Lisa’s journey with us began as a volunteer in the coffee shop, and over the years, she’s made an impact in almost every corner of the hospice, from housekeeping to the kitchen and now as a welcoming face at reception. Reflecting on her time here, Lisa shared: "My mum worked for St Catherine’s. I started as a volunteer in the coffee shop. I’ve done all of the front of house, I did the kitchen, housekeeping and I’ve been on reception now for about 7 or 8 years. It’s a lovely place to work." Thank you, Lisa, for your incredible dedication, warmth, and the countless lives you’ve touched over the past 15 years. We’re so lucky to have you as part of our hospice family! 🧡

  • Yesterday, Health Secretary Wes Streeting, announced hospices in England will receive £100 million in Government funding over the next two years. In response, Giles, our Chief Executive said, “We’re pleased with the announcement that hospices in England will receive £100 million in Government funding over the next two years, and it’s encouraging that the Government has listened to pleas from our hospice and other hospices for additional funding. We’re now waiting for further details so we can better understand how this will impact St Catherine’s and all those we care for and determine how best to allocate any funds we receive. We also continue to hope that as the NHS Long Term Plan develops that there is a solution to a long term funding formula for hospices.”

While the event couldn’t go ahead as originally planned, the love and connection shared throughout the day were deeply moving. Thank you to everyone who joined to reflect, celebrate, and honour loved ones. The day was a beautiful tribute to cherished memories. 🧡
