We are here to support the families of hostages (including those who are arbitrarily detained) around the world. Alongside our direct and tailored support, guidance, information, and access to specialist services, we also work (usually behind the scenes) with governments and employers to try to improve support and understanding for hostages' families and returning hostages. When requested, we feed into government enquiries such as the Australian Senate Inquiry into the #WrongfulDetention of Australians Overseas. Working internationally and with around 65 individuals at any one time, we have a unique insight into the challenges that people have faced over the last 20 years up to today. While we can’t comment publicly on the foreign policy practices of different states, we can help families understand the complexities and why states may act in certain ways. We welcome these Senate Inquiry findings to help provide additional support for families affected and hostages after release including in #Australia #Canada #UK & across #Europe.
