Today was the annual AFK charity beach volleyball championships. 💜 Firstly thank you to our event partners Canary Wharf Group, SideOut and British Volleyball Federation - we couldn’t do it without you. 💜 Big gratitude to all the funders and donors. What an amazing event. Queens and King's of the court with Volleyball England and SideOut. We secured NOCCO from Vitamin Well Group a partnership package and supported the live event. From a message on socials to full steam event planning with Petros Papachristos we managed to pull together a stand out event partnership at Canary Wharf! What a memorable two days in Canary Wharf as a collaboration across the partners brought King & Queen of the Court to Canada Square. It was filled with the best of British, the next best athletes coming out of Britain and some incredible international world beaters! A glowing success to all those invovled from athletes, partners, to the volunteers. Congratulations to AFK | Working With Disability Volleyball England and SideOut for bringing an international event to the UK since 2012! But we don’t stop there, we’ve got a school taster session tomorrow across beach and sitting volleyball with Issa B. and Freddie Bialokoz and Ian Legrand, and a corporate fun tournament on Thursday 26th September with athletes galore!

Some pretty exciting news from AFK Beach. On Friday and Saturday we welcomed top international beach volleyball players for the inaugural Queen and King of the Court London showcase. Queen & King of the Court - Canary Wharf Volleyball England, alongside SideOut, Sportworx and Action for Kids are proud to be hosting the first ever Queen & King of the Court Showcase at event to take place in England this weekend (20th-21st September) in Canada Square Park, Canary Wharf. As an integral part of our strategic vision, we are collaborating with partners to bring major international events to the country. We firmly believe that introducing new, innovative and exciting formats of the sport will enable us to grow our reach and boost volleyball’s popularity. Queen & King of the Court was launched by Sportworx in collaboration with FIVB to revolutionise beach volleyball. What began as a unique, fast-paced format quickly gained international recognition and became a fan favorite. Since its inception, QKOTC has captivated global audiences with its fresh approach to the traditional sport. Today, QKOTC has grown into a global phenomenon, drawing the best beach volleyball players and fans worldwide. The format, which sees teams battle to become the reigning Queens or Kings, brings an unparalleled level of excitement. QKOTC events are hosted in iconic locations such as Miami, Rio, Doha, Hamburg and now London, attracting millions of viewers. As I am sure you will agree, hosting such a spectacle in London, attracting the attention of the sport’s global reach (700 million+) and crowning Queens & Kings in a country and city steeped in heraldic ancestry, is an attractive proposition. Our ambitions are to expand and explore the opportunity to host a ‘Crown Series’ Queen & King of the Court event from 2025. The event this weekend is free to attend and I hope to see you there.
