NEW TOYS 🎥✨ Unfortunately not ours - but testing some beautiful glass for a couple of upcoming projects 🤫 The lovely SHIFT 4 team invited me Calum Knight and Jessica Baillie to their Manchester studio to put some stunning cinema lenses through their paces. I'm not a massive 'gear-head' but seeing the difference between the lenses is quite eye-opening, and weirdly enough we all like the glass with 'imperfections' (opposed to the 'cleaner' look) for their uniquely cinematic look and feel. I don't think gear will make or break a project, but it can certainly give a video that je nais se quois that we all crave; taking it from a 'A' project to an 'A+'. What do you reckon - does gear matter? Or is more about the talent in-front and behind the camera? 🤔
