🌈 Building a startup can be lonely, but being a LGBTQ+ founder can sometimes feel even lonelier. We're not only navigating building a startup, but also the complexity of being in spaces that might not always accept us. That's why creating spaces where we can build each other up and support one another is so important. I recently had the pleasure of bringing together 12 LGBTQ+ founders for an evening of connection and conversation with Series Q. No pitching. No small talk. No judgment. Just honest conversation over food and wine. In a world where we’re often pressured to mask our true selves to fit in or be taken seriously, it’s liberating to sit on a table with people just gets it. Every time we meet, I’m reminded of the power of community, and also how our experiences of stigma have often times not just made us more resilient but also more compassionate. I was at the Series Q Supper in Soho, Old Compton St (love this road) last Thursday night with 12 other LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and creators. I adore what Series Q do, if you’re the only LBGTQ+ person in a startup or smaller business, they provide a really important network, so I wanted to give them a little shout-out. It was amazing getting together with a few like-minded people in a chilled environment for some good chats. Thanks to Jaron Soh for arranging.

It's partly a conversation about bias with Sasha Scott. It's partly a party supported by Grey Goose (it is Pride after all). A few months ago, Erik Johnson gave me of tour of the unique Lloyd's of London building in the City. What other modernist tower on the planet has a full baroque ballroom on the 18th floor! Moreover, he told me about their dual efforts to champion diversity and to more fully serve the startup community at a time with InsureTech is exploding as an important driver of growth on the London scene. I knew instantly we needed to host a Series Q event there. Last Wednesday I attended my first Series Q event in Holborn. And it was amazing! 🏳️🌈 Series Q supports queer entrepreneurs, creators and business owners looking to grow and thrive. I got to meet some inspirational business leaders and entrepreneurs, network with a room of exceptional queer creators and listen to the journeys of 3 amazing speakers who spoke about the ups and downs of growing a successful business. 🏳️🌈 I was in the closet until my 30s, and since then it's been a beautiful journey of embracing my queerness.
