From adapting to new legislation to harnessing cutting-edge technology and fostering inclusive work environments, their role has never been more important or more complex. The challenge ahead isn’t just about managing change; it’s about balancing strategic priorities with the human touch that makes HR the heart of any organisation. How can we remain champions of employee well-being while driving innovation and navigating a shifting legal and technological landscape? Our HR Director Jodie Ratcliffe Chartered MCIPD highlights four key areas where HR will play a critical role in the year ahead: ✅ Navigating the Employment Rights Bill: Tackling compliance while maintaining trust and transparency with employees. ✅ Inclusive Agile Workforces: Building a unified culture that values both permanent and contingent employees. ✅ Embracing AI: Integrating AI as a supportive tool while addressing employee concerns about job security and skills. ✅ Reskilling for the Future: Equipping employees with the skills to thrive alongside AI through recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development. The challenge lies in balancing these strategic demands whilst still putting our people first that defines HR. How do we ensure innovation and inclusivity without losing sight of employee well-being? • Meet 2025 - the year of workforce leadership paradox As we look to 2025, the role of leadership will become more challenging - and more vital than ever. With rapid technological advancements and evolving regulations reshaping the workforce, leaders must rise to meet these new demands. Matrix CEO Mark Inskip shared his insights with theHRDIRECTOR on the key trends defining workforce leadership in the coming year and how successfully navigating them will be crucial for business success amidst growing complexity and regulatory challenges.   A snapshot of Mark’s key trends shaping the future of leadership:   1. Conscious Intuition - AI and Recruitment: Leaders must tackle the complexities of AI, ensuring candidates aren’t using tech to game the system. - Balanced Hiring: A mix of rigorous assessments and intuitive, face-to-face evaluations will help identify talent while fostering inclusivity. - Objective Assessment: Merging science and instinct will ensure candidates align with business values while minimising bias. 2. Empowering Self-Leadership - Self-Management: Younger employees seek more responsibility – leaders must empower them while fostering alignment with business goals. - Delegation and Trust: Stronger collaboration and trust will unlock the potential of self-managed teams. - Leadership Development: Investing in skills and character-driven programs will turn employees into independent leaders. 3. Consistent Flexibility - Adapting to Legislation: Processes must align with new employment laws, balancing compliance and workforce efficiency. - Upskilling: Developing the existing workforce will reduce hiring dependencies and future-proof talent pipelines. - Contingent Talent Pools: Building loyal, experienced pools of flexible workers will drive agility and productivity. • The Future of Work is Here: Embracing the Blended Workforce 💪 The idea of a single workforce tied to full-time contracts and 9-to-5 hours may be becoming obsolete. By 2025, nearly 40% of the global workforce could be freelance or contingent, according to Gartner. This is not a passing trend - it’s a permanent shift. At last month’s HR Leaders Club event, organised by ThePeopleSpace in partnership with Matrix, we explored this transformation in-depth. Led by Dr Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic, a professor of business psychology and global authority on people analytics and leadership, the discussion revealed key insights for HR and business leaders navigating this new world. This was echoes by our very own Chief Growth officer Roger Clements - highlighting that there is still a lack of understanding across HR as to the impact the blended workforce will have on strategic workforce planning.  👉 Read the full article to explore how skills-based hiring, AI, and organisational agility are shaping the future: https://lnkd.in/epJen8cp #FutureOfWork #BlendedWorkforce #HR

Just caught up with Matrix Head of CSR Siobhan Goss about the key Social Value trends within the public sector for 2025. In Siobhan’s view, we’re only going to see an increase in the importance of Social Value within public sector procurement as we move into next year. Key takeaways: 📝 👉 Suppliers need to find a way to better align their Social Value initiatives with the contract they’re fulfilling 👉 Research is key! Looking into priority areas for local communities and staying ahead of regeneration projects will ensure that the right service is being offered at the right time in the right places 👉 Public sector organisations and suppliers need to strike a balance between defining outcomes and what suppliers are reasonably able to offer – this could be done through Social Value forums and more joined up thinking But we know you want the full story – watch the video below to read our chat with Siobhan and get her insights! What do you think about her predictions? Let us know in the comments and keep the conversation going! #SocialValue #PublicSector #ConnectingPeopleToWork
