WORLD SIGHT DAY 2024! The World Sight Day Campaign is an annual day to raise global awareness of vision impairment and blindness. It is run by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB). The mission for World Sight Day 2024 is to raise awareness of the importance of eye care in young people and inspire children everywhere to love their eyes. I'm currently on holiday in Rome with Seable Holidays and I was really intrigued by these panels that are located around the city. They give you some information about where you are in both print and braille, as well as including a little tactile diagram that you can have a look at. They are located on the street as well as throughout the train station. I particularly appreciated that in train stations there are more than one of these. It's not just a tactile map as you go in, you can find these at several points meaning you can check where you are on the map and get information about the various train lines running through the station. I love to discover #accessible design everywhere I travel, and I feel like in regards to blind and visually impaired people, Rome has been designed with lots of thought.
