Brain stimulation for depression featured in the Financial Times 🧠💡 This week, Michael Peel highlighted a range of new technologies that could reshape mental health treatment. Among them, Flow Neuroscience are using transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) to treat depression. Their latest study, published in Nature Magazine, demonstrates the effectiveness of at-home tDCS for managing depression. Nettle uses tDCS to alleviate the mood and pain symptoms associated with menstruation, showing the broad potential of this non-invasive treatment to revolutionise both women's mental and physical health. 🧠➡️🩸 NEW study suggests a causal link between depression and dysmenorrhea (period pain). Key insights: 🧠 Depression increases the risk of experiencing menstrual pain by 51%, highlighting the mental health impact of women's health. 💤 Sleeplessness may act as a mediator—depression leads to poor sleep, which worsens menstrual pain. 🧬 Genetic pathways shared between depression and period pain were identified, offering potential for targeted treatments. Brain-based solutions like Nettle consistently stand out as a leading option, offering the only drug- and hormone-free approach to both mood and pain symptoms associated with menstruation. 👉 Swipe to explore the study, and read the full study here: https://lnkd.in/gYYmFUKq #MentalHealth #WomensHealth #PeriodPain #Dysmenorrhea #Depression #Genetics #Research #Innovation #Healthcare

Nettle is now available on Zest! 🍊 As we expand access to Nettle - the first CE-marked, medical-grade, hormone- and drug-free treatment for PMS and menstrual pain - its feature on Zest’s Marketplace represents a significant step toward prioritising menstrual workplace wellbeing. Employers: this is your chance to take the lead in supporting menstrual health. By offering Nettle as part of your benefits package, you can foster productivity, inclusivity, and a more compassionate work environment. Why it matters: 💼 The CIPD found that 69% of employees experiencing menstrual symptoms report a negative impact at work. 53% have been unable to work due to symptoms, and for 4%, this happens every month. 📉 Research published in the BMJ (Schoep et al., 2017) revealed that 80.7% of women lose productivity due to presenteeism - an average loss of 23.2 days per woman, per year. ❌ Yet, only 12% of organisations currently offer support for menstrual health (CIPD). It’s time to change this. Learn how Nettle can make a difference - visit the Zest Marketplace or reach out more information. https://lnkd.in/g_VwsqgF #WorkplaceWellness #MenstrualHealth #EmployeeBenefits

🌟 A Game-Changer for PMDD 🌟 For those unfamiliar, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is often referred to as a severe form of PMS that is associated with severe cyclical depression, anxiety and suicidality. We’re thrilled to share this feedback from a Nettle user who experienced: ✅ Reduced emotional struggles like depression and self-doubt ✅ Increased energy and confidence before their period ✅ A less painful period without the need for painkillers This shows the potential of Nettle to transform the lives of those managing PMDD symptoms, and we're committed to more evidence generation for a significantly underdiagnosed and invalidated population - including working with the International Association For Premenstrual Disorders where possible. Have questions or thoughts about PMDD or Nettle? We’d love to hear from you. #PMDD #WomensHealth #Neurotechnology #Innovation #SamphireNeuroscience
