Celebrating another Success in the Middle East! Congratulations to the Resourcing Leaders Middle East community on an incredible event in Dubai! The Resourcing Leaders Middle East Talent Acquisition Review 2024 – Reflecting on AI vs Human Hiring brought together over 35 Talent Acquisition leaders to explore the balance between technology and the human touch in hiring. The event, expertly hosted by Matthew Hesketh, HSBC, featured standout sessions including Charlotte Harris, Al-Futtaim, on AI’s transformative role in executive resourcing, and Javeed Khan, KPMG, on cutting-edge generative AI tools. The first-ever live episode of 100 Voices, with Diane Christine Maninang, The Omorfia Group, and Zahia T. Abu Ali, Emirates Islamic, inspired a powerful discussion on keeping HR strategies human. The day closed with Damian Brown, Chalhoub Group, reflecting on key insights and the future of Talent Acquisition in the Middle East. A couple of weeks on from the Resourcing Leaders Summit at the Marine Hotel in Whitstable, and I’m still reflecting on what an inspiring and insightful event it was. The location was perfect – and not just because it’s less than 10 miles from home! The space provided a fantastic environment for collaboration and deep conversation. The talks really stuck with me, especially the focus on tackling our industry’s biggest challenges. Technology was a standout topic—how it’s enabling teams to deliver a more elevated, “whiter glove” experience (yes, it’s a thing!) to a broader pool of candidates. Add to that the growing use of data to unlock meaningful conversations with the C-suite around ROI and, crucially, getting CFOs to loosen their grip on the purse strings. These insights are already shaping how I think about our strategies moving forward. On a more personal note, I left the summit deeply inspired by the quality of the presentations and presenters. It reinforced my own goal to become a better storyteller and to empower my team to craft compelling narratives that elevate our work. Finally, I can’t say enough about Jamie and his team for organising such an exceptional event. It was my first Resourcing Leaders Summit, but it certainly won’t be my last. This feels like the beginning of an exciting journey—one I’m thrilled to be a part of. Looking forward to seeing how these conversations continue to evolve!
