I'm very excited to feature in the Fostering Families Magazine Winter Issue 2024 as I share my story. Who is Peter Buturo, the person behind the big goals? I was born in Uganda and moved to the UK at the age of 5 years old with my family in the 1980s. I am a son to caring, charismatic and trailblazing mother who died in a road traffic car crash in Uganda. I was only 16 years old at the time. I am a son to an Ugandan politician and a father Nsaba Buturo PhD who taught me to ‘think big’ throughout life. I am a driven and ambitious individual with a heart and a desire to impact and add value to others. I live in Birmingham, England. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work, I embarked upon a career as a social worker and foster carer. In 2020, I started my own business Bold Leap where we provide care and support to children in care within a residential home and supported accommodation. Social Work & Beyond is my first book as a bestselling author with Rethink Press The power of sharing your story serves as a shinning light of hope and connection.
