  • With King Charles's announcement that he is being treated for an enlarged prostate, visits to the NHS's prostate enlargement page increased by almost 1,000%. Charles, 75, is said to have wanted to publish his diagnosis to encourage other men experiencing symptoms to get checked. Did you know❔ ➡ Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with more than 52,000 men diagnosed each year on average, equating to 144 men every day. ➡ This means that 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime. ➡ Men with prostate cancer often have no symptoms unless the disease is detected at a late stage. Being aware of the common signs and symptoms of the disease as well as the risk factors are key, and you should consider getting tested if you’re at higher risk of getting prostate cancer. This includes anyone over the age of 50, men of Black African or African-Caribbean descent, and men with a close family history of prostate cancer (father, brother, son).
