PROGRESS Wrestling and Birkdale Collective have joined forces to create an initiative called "Your Next Chapter." Designed to help people forge a clear and safe career path into the world of professional wrestling, “Your Next Chapter” will also showcase what PROGRESS Wrestling is all about to an entirely new audience through Universities, student networks, clubs, societies and more creating new fans collectively. Birkdale Collective have delivered talks at over 20 Universities throughout the UK offering careers guidance, they work with numerous sporting organisations and charities also. Their owner Pete Davis is a giant believer in the potential growth of professional wrestling in the UK and has been working with Lee McAteer to put this exciting initiative together. A New Chapter in Wrestling Education? The partnership aims to give those who aspire to be in the professional wrestling industry a path forward to gain a better understanding and experience in what it takes to be part of the wrestling industry, creating great transferable skills for individuals to use not just in the wrestling sector, but outside of it as well. Your Next Chapter will therefore offer a structured approach to help individuals turn their passion for wrestling into viable careers. We will be working with Universities across the country, offering placement opportunities to students from a variety of institutions and faculties across the UK and Ireland. We will also be creating an online course to help those who have a genuine and legitimate interest in being part of the wrestling industry to gain those skills for this sector and beyond. This will open the doors to a whole host of new fans for PROGRESS Wrestling after people have expressed a legitimate interest in being a part of the wrestling industry. What to Expect Training: Learn from industry veterans and experienced professionals inside and out of the ring who will guide you through every aspect of becoming a success in the wrestling business. Career Development: Gain insights into the business side of wrestling, including personal branding, promotion, and networking. As well as all the roles it takes to put on a live wrestling show to a global audience. Practical Experience: Benefit from hands-on training and potential opportunities to showcase your skills at real wrestling events. Your next chapter? Are you ready to write the next chapter of your wrestling journey? Stay tuned for more details.

So... Normally we would hype our show today but Unboxing is very different, there's no matches announced in advance! The whole event is a surprise but what we can promise are that those surprises will be very exciting and we have a top afternoon/evening of professional wrestling ahead. In the first ever PROGRESS Wrestling Unboxing show, Current WWE superstar Pete Dunne defended his Men’s PROGRESS Championship against Fabian Aichner (now Giovanni Vinci in WWE) and former AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm wrestled Kay Lee Ray (WWE’s Alba Fyre). Past iterations of this event have also seen current WWE star Ilja Dragunov facing current AEW star Kyle Fletcher and former TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace defeating Jinny to become the Women’s PROGRESS Champion. Best of luck to the talent and team with the event today and we know the fans on their way will have an amazing time! #ThisIsProgress #ProgressWrestling #WWE #AEW #TNA #Wrestling

PROGRESS Wrestling reposted this
Y'ALL. IT'S HAPPENING. On Sunday I will take another step forward in my announcing profession and fulfill a lifelong dream -- ring announcing PRO WRESTLING! I've been doing MMA events for 5 years, and through an incredibly supportive network (shoutout Katie Nicholson) got connected with and will now be part of PROGRESS Wrestling's show in Chicago at Thalia Hall on Sunday, Dec 1. PROGRESS is the UK's largest independent wrestling promotion (promotion = industry term for 'league'). Some of the biggest names in the industry today have come through PROGRESS including current WWE World Champion, Gunther, and All Elite Wrestling headliner, Will Ospreay. Find yourself pitching your product on stages or on calls? The pageantry and showmanship of pro wrestling will inspire you to use more of your personality and bring more energy into your pitches. Attend and consider this show your own R&D. And come out to support your Hypeman! The show is 2 days before my birthday, so consider it a bday gift to me :D Now, for the big question -- will I get hit with a steel chair?? Come out to Thalia Hall on Sunday to find out! Show starts at 2pm. #BelieveTheHype

Yesterday at Vendetta 2 we had more students and young people involved as a part of the #YourNextChapter initiative. Joining us at the Electric Ballroom we had Omer Hagomer and Lemmy Walls helping out and taking in the show. Omer is a Sport Media student from Cardiff Metropolitan University and has a keen passion for writing so he watched on, took notes and we look forward to seeing his article this week. Omer also got a hold of one of the PROGRESS Tag Team Championship belts which the Smokin' Aces will be needing back! Lemmy Walls joined us working with our Front of House Manager, Mike Angus ensuring all of the fans knew where to go within the venue and that their entry and exit was managed appropriately. Hopefully useful experience that Lemmy can take back and add to his CV while studying at UCFB. Both are pictured here with PROGRESS Co-Owner Lee McAteer and visiting ring announcer Calliandra Hiss. Our next show is Unboxing XII: The Curtain Call back in the Ballroom just after Christmas so a well earned break for all! Live today from the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London it's Vendetta 2! Never has the name been more relevant as many scores will look to be settled today, no bigger than the PROGRESS Mens World Champion Luke Jacobs defending against one of the biggest up and coming stars in wrestling, Leon Slater. Slater pinned Jacobs last week in Manchester and poses a huge threat to the reign of the champion. After five long years we also have the return of the 3 time former PROGRESS Tag Team champion and former Atlas champion, Trent Seven to face off against Ricky Knight Jr. Since leaving PROGRESS, Seven has been a WWE NXT Tag Team Champion and NXT UK Tag Team Champion with Tyler Bate, he's competed in AEW and is currently featured on IMPACT Wrestling. Vendetta is the key word throughout the show as Nina Samuels and Kanji finally look to settle their differences after months of clashes. Man Like Dereiss goes up against Ethan Allen in singles action looking to get back to winning singles ways. Following Manchester hosting duties, the PROGRESS Proteus Champion Simon Miller defends against Gene Munny, Session Moth Martina and Will Kroos! Will Miller's reign be a short one? Those matches and more make up and exciting afternoon and evening at the ballroom. With two giant shows in quick succession, the team will have earned a well deserved rest ahead of Unboxing XII: The Curtain Call after Christmas. Good luck to everyone today for what's surely going to be a fantastic show. #ThisIsProgress #YourNextChapter #WWE #NXT

What a show "Chapter 173: Stay Young & Invincible" was yesterday at the O2 Ritz in Manchester! Our team and talent worked very hard to put on the best possible show and we were happy to welcome many new team members for the day to help out in various roles. For example, thanks to a Career Fair by the Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme, we had Adam joining us to shadow Mike Angus who is the Front of House Manager for PROGRESS. Adam helped fans around the venue to make sure they had the best possible experience as well as giving Adam some time to take in the show. The Community Programme (and other programmes like it throughout the UK) are a great way for young people to improve their job hunting skills, gain experience and employment. We were happy to support this work experience and hopefully will see Adam again soon! Live tomorrow from the O2 Ritz in Manchester. We have a host of firsts going on! A PROGRESS debut for Natalie Sykes, a first ever intergender match between Cara Noir and Charli Evans and our new Proteus Champion Simon Miller both hosts and chooses the new stipulation for the unique title. The Tag Team Titles are on the line as the Champions Smokin' Aces defend against former WWE NXT UK and IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Champions, Subculture. Our huge main event sees the PROGRESS World Champion come home to Manchester to team with his Young Guns partner Ethan Allen to face two of the fastest rising stars in wrestling Leon Slater and Man Like Dereiss. Best of luck to all of our talent, crew and venue staff ahead of what's going to be another massive show! Catch it live on TrillerTV and Demand Progress Plus.
