About us
Preston City Council is a district council, working alongside Lancashire County Council as part of a two-tier local government system. Preston City Council delivers quality services across the board. These include essential services such as waste collection, environmental health, parks, Preston Markets, cemetery, and crematorium. Alongside this, we continue to pursue our ambitious agenda for Preston through large scale projects such as the Harris Quarter Towns Fund Investment Programme, Harris Your Place project and other key areas of work to ensure we regenerate our city centre and beyond for the benefit of our whole community. In 2021, we launched our revised Community Wealth Building strategy which puts delivery and collaboration at the heart of this extremely important agenda. Some of the Council’s ongoing projects and campaigns include: CULTURE AND LEISURE Egg Rolling on Avenham Park The Encounter Festival Preston City Mela Mobile Event Tent (MET) hosts a number of shows and events Re-imagining the Harris Summer Saturdays PRESTON CITY INVESTMENT PLAN AND TOWN DEAL BID The six supported projects are: 1.
