💦 'In the five experiments conducted, the residential automatic fire sprinklers activated and prevented flashover. Despite similar explosive ignitions of smoke from the batteries, sprinkler activation stopped the spread of fire to other fuels' 🔋 As stated in the article mentioned by the Fire Safety Research Institute below, Lithium Ion Battery-powered devices are part of modern everyday life and can be used safely; unfortunately, not all LIB-powered devices are manufactured to the same standards and the fire risks associated with them, especially when stored inside both domestic and business premises, is significant. 🛡 This ultimately means that in the absence of an active suppression system, passive fire protection is the only remaining line of defence against fire spread! Thankfully, this is where we can help! ⚠️ If you are concerned about the dangers of LIB-powered transportation in your work/home premises and want to know more about how to improve your current fire safety measures, get touch with our team using the contact details below! 👇 ☎️ 01353 820150 📧 info@prestigefiresafety.com 🌍 www.prestigefiresafety.com #firesafety #fire #fireprotection #fireprevention #fireextinguisher #firesafetytraining #firedoors #passivefireprotection #healthandsafety #lithiumbatteryfires #ebikes #escooters
"Of significant concern is the frightening speed of fire growth from flaming ignition to peak heat release rate..." FSRI Senior Director of Research Daniel Madrzykowski and Director of Research Craig Weinschenk share as they discuss our research into the fire safety of #LithiumionBatteries and micro-mobility devices. Over the last few years, we have taken this research and developed firefighter training and public education resources. Fire safety compliance isn’t just a legal requirement – it’s a responsibility that safeguards lives, property and business continuity. In the UK, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 sets out clear responsibilities for businesses to ensure fire safety across their premises. But compliance goes beyond ticking boxes; it’s about fostering a culture of safety and preparedness! Here’s why maintaining fire compliance is non-negotiable: 👮♂️ Legal obligation: As a business owner or responsible person, you are required by law to conduct fire risk assessments and implement appropriate measures. Non-compliance could lead to crushing fines, legal action or even imprisonment. 👨🚒 Protecting lives: Proper fire safety measures such as alarms, extinguishers and clear evacuation plans can mean the difference between survival and tragedy. ❤️🔥 Safeguarding your business: Fires can cause severe disruption or even closure. Compliance minimises risks - helping you protect your business’s future. 🤝 Reputation matters: Demonstrating a commitment to safety builds trust with employees, customers and stakeholders. Tips to Stay Fire Compliant; 🔥 Conduct and regularly update fire risk assessments, ensure fire alarms, extinguishers and emergency lighting are installed and tested regularly. 👩🎓 Train your staff on fire safety procedures and hold regular drills. ❗️ Keep fire exits clear and signage visible at all times. 🫡 Partner with an accredited fire safety provider such as Prestige Fire Safety Limited for inspections and advice! 💡 Remember: Fire safety is an ongoing process - regular reviews and updates are essential to keeping your business premises compliant and everyone within it safe. Let’s work together to make fire safety your priority. What steps does your business take to ensure fire compliance?
