That’s almost a wrap on 2024, and what a year it’s been! From football stadiums to festivals, Piing games are now the de facto downtime choice for event crowds. We’ve engaged fans at the greatest events on Earth and cemented our place as leaders in “Eyes-Up” entertainment. We’ve now had more than half a million players on Piing and counting. To date, Piing fans have kicked more than 240,000 penalties, taken part in 363 Quiizzes and our games have been played across five continents. If you’ve been to a home game at the Etihad recently you’ll have noticed a new addition to the pre-match entertainment. In the spring we became the Official Crowd Games Supplier to Manchester City Football Club. Result! Elsewhere in football, we’ve had an incredible year. Piing was played throughout the Euros in Germany as well as in fanzones at The AO Arena, The O2, in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Poland. We’ve also featured as part of the entertainment at 1. FC Köln, FC Bayern Munich, Germany’s men’s national team, Club Atlético de Madrid, Charlotte FC, Göztepe SK, Bristol City Football Club, Burnley Football Club and Southampton Football Club. Massive thanks to our many agency clients, of which there are too many to mention, but you know who you are! Additionally, we’ve had some mega brand activations, working with some of the world’s best event agencies, we’ve helped create an electric atmosphere in the Vodafone charging tent at Glastonbury, and adidas keep the pace up at the Berlin marathon and Euro 2024. Closer to home, we’ve been a staple part of the fun at Printworks in Manchester, taking up residency on their big screens since March. Göztepe SK have been on a bit of a run of late, a stellar performance that has seen them promoted to Turkey’s Süper Lig this season, and we’ve been spicing things up Piing-style over the past couple of games. While the team has been putting the balls in the back of the net on the pitch, Piing has been giving the fans a little something to play for around the games, with our ever-popular Pen-Kick. The club started running our games in October, with the first racking up more than 2,700 players. Last weekend, our pre-kickoff Pen-Kick had almost half the crowd in the stadium at that time reaching for their smartphones to have a go. Goztepe’s streak isn’t showing any signs of slowing down - they’ve rocketed up to 6th in the table - and with the season going full gas, we’re hoping there will be plenty more Pen-Kicks to play for. We’re back on the grid with Formula E this weekend as the 2025 season gets off to an early start at Sao Paulo. Our Formula-E branded E-Prix is back in the fanzones throughout the season, all expertly produced and delivered by adi.tv. E-Prix puts electric car racing directly into the hands of the fans and adds that extra spark to what already promises to be a gripping championship. We’re a flexible bunch at Piing. Give us a little bit of internet and few willing players who are up for a challenge and we’ll give you a gaming experience unlike any other. Our adaptability can lend itself to some varied scenarios, and one of these is at Auto Trader UK, where the employee Christmas Piing Quiiz has become something of festive tradition. And next week, we’re back for a fifth year of Christmas Quiizing. Our relationship with Auto Trader dates to the dark days of lockdown in 2020, when our first Christmas Quiiz brought some fun to the Auto Trader team across the country. The 2021 Quiiz led to our first Guinness World Record a year later, with a live gameshow containing over £100,000 of prizes aimed at increasing awareness of electric vehicles. Competing against Matt Hancock on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here… we had close to 20,000 people from all over the UK join in, with 7,279 answering every question over an hour to double the previous world record. Next week’s festive fun for the Auto Trader team might not be quite as big as the World Record quiz, but we’re going full throttle on the fun all the way. A great game has the power to draw a crowd wherever it’s on, and that’s especially true for tradeshows. This week our crowd participation arcade games have proved an irresistible draw among guests at Event Tech Live London and SportsPro Madrid. We’ve had favourites including Pen Kick and Buggy Race playing all day on our stands, while our end of day session on the Event Tech Live main stage really charged up proceedings. Up for grabs were bragging rights and some highly prized Piing trophies. We were honoured to be asked by Event Buyers Live to open their 10th annual event - with Piing providing the perfect icebreaker as part of the opening evening entertainment. We’re off to Switzerland for the Impulse Summit this week, joining some of the brightest minds in sports business to talk all things tech. At last year’s event we were honoured to take the win in the Impulse Network Start-Up Competition in collaboration with SportsTechX. This time round, our founder Gareth Langley will be sitting on the Digital Revolution panel alongside Giacomo Margutti, Jan Paetzold and Rohn Malhotra, as they dive into how new technologies can be used to entertain and enhance the fan experience.
