Finnish composer Outi Tarkiainen, who lives in Lapland, could write music before she could write words and letters. We caught up with her to find out more about her life and music ahead of our performance on 27 Oct of her piece ‘Mosaics’, which reflects the unpredictable nature of the climate crisis. Today is a very special day in Sweden: Cinnamon Roll Day. We started celebrations early with our ‘Notes on Nature’ discussion on Sunday, which featured delicious buns courtesy of the Embassy of Sweden London, UK and the Cafe at the Swedish Church. Attendees enjoyed a touch of Swedish ‘fika’ as they enjoyed the buns and got involved in a discussion led by environmental experts including film maker Joakim Odelberg whose mesmerising films feature in several forthcoming concerts. Join us for more debate (and more buns) at future ‘Notes on Nature’ events, and don’t miss our FREE ‘Music of Today’ concert this Sunday - all part of our Nordic Soundscapes series Find out more: https://lnkd.in/emfBxM3u All pics: Marc Gascoigne
