  • Are we paying remote workers fairly in 2024? 🧐🤔 We’ve embraced the flexibility of remote and hybrid work, but here’s the burning question… Has salary benchmarking caught up? 🤔 Traditionally, pay was tied to the location you worked in, but the game has changed. With people working from anywhere, how do we ensure compensation is fair without losing our edge in the talent market? 🏙️🌄🌎 💡 Here are some approaches companies we work with are exploring 🟣 Location-Based Pay Pay tied to the cost of living in the employee’s area. 👍 Makes sense for cost optimisation. 👎 But can create inequities within your team. 🟣 Role-Based Pay Salaries based on the role, not the location. 👍 Fair and simple - same role, same pay. 👎 May underpay high-cost area talent and overpay in lower-cost regions. 🟣 Hybrid Models ✨ Tiered salary bands by region ✨ Global benchmarks with location-based modifiers or premiums. ✨ A middle ground that balances fairness and market competitiveness. 🔑 How do you know it’s fair? ✔️ Use market data specific to remote roles (hello, Payscale & Mercer) ✔️ Pay for value - focus on the skills and outcomes employees deliver. ✔️ Build transparency into your pay policies to foster trust. 🚀 Bottom line? 💜 Investing in your people with fair, competitive salaries isn’t just about cost—it’s about attracting and retaining the best talent. 👉 What’s your approach to remote salary benchmarking? Are you sticking with traditional methods or experimenting with new models? Drop your thoughts below! We want to hear from you 💬⬇️ P.S we are experts in this - if you want to revamp how you approach salaries, then start by contacting Hello@peoplestation.co.uk

  • Is the traditional after-work pub culture evolving? 🟣 As workplaces become more diverse and social preferences shift, so too does the way we choose to connect with colleagues. 🟣 CGA’s new report reveals an increasing consumer desire for more than just food and drink when going out. 🟣 Competitive socialising venues offering activities like golf, darts, or arcade games are seeing a surge in popularity. 🟣 In fact, over a third of consumers now engage in these activities weekly, and three in five people say they're more likely to visit a venue if it offers such experiences. 🟣 With younger adults gravitating towards venues like food halls and stadiums, it seems that experiences are now at the heart of socialising. 🌲 And as we approach the festive season, how might this trend shape your office Christmas party plans? #CompetitiveSocialising #OfficeCulture #ChristmasParty #EventPlanning #WorkplaceDiversity #ExperientialEvents #TeamBuilding #HolidayCelebrations #ShiftingTraditions #ModernSocialising

  • 🤔 Are we measuring productivity properly—or missing the bigger picture? A new report from Citi highlights the UK’s productivity crisis, and the numbers are eye-opening. But it raises a crucial question: are we even tracking productivity in the right way? 🔻 UK worker output is now 36% lower than it should be if pre-2008 trends had continued. 🇺🇸 We’re significantly lagging behind the US and Europe. 🏢 Only 4% of companies are now considered “high-growth,” down from nearly 6% in 2014. 📉 Policy or measurement failure? The report calls the last two decades of UK economic performance a “policy failure.” But could it also be how we’re defining productivity? With forecasts predicting recovery by 2026-2027, there’s potential for improvement—but it begs the question 🟣are we measuring the right things, or is our entire approach to productivity flawed?🟣 What do you think? 🟣do we need to rethink how productivity is managed, tracked, and driven forward?🟣 #ProductivityBoost #EfficiencyMatters #WorkSmart #BusinessGrowth #CreativeEfficiency #BoldDesign #ProgressInAction #TimeManagement #MotivationMatters #ProductivityGoals #InnovationInWork

  • 🚨 Big news for over 7 million workers! 🚨 Labour is about to unveil its Employment Rights Bill this Thursday, packed with game-changing reforms designed to protect and empower workers across the UK: 🔸 Sick Pay from Day 1 – No more waiting four days to claim! 🔸 Maternity Pay from Day 1 – Immediate security for women in the workplace. 🔸 Probation periods shortened to 6 months – Protecting workers from unfair dismissal sooner. 🔸 A formal “right to switch off” – Companies will need to set clear guidelines on when bosses can’t contact employees. 💬 According to Paul Nowak, General Secretary of the TUC: “If delivered in full, the Employment Rights Bill will make work better for millions of people.” However, some, like Anna Leach, Chief Economist at the IoD, caution that it could increase cost burdens for businesses and potentially impact job opportunities.
