About us
The Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business has a vision for a world where business understands, acts upon, and furthers sustainability outcomes in its activities. Home of the Transforming Tomorrow podcast. We achieve tangible real-world impact by engaging with businesses, policymakers, academics and others to consider: - How a strategic focus on sustainability can drive both financial and non-financial performance. - How adoption of purposeful business models can advance a sustainable transformation of business-as-usual. - The nature and impacts of sustainability risks, opportunities and changing stakeholder values. In undertaking this work, we support the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement.

This is an essential read for anyone interested in how a planet-centred approach to the measurement of corporate activities can help tackle the climate and nature crisis.
Businesses and investors can play a key role in addressing the climate and nature crisis. But this calls for a shift in practices to measure corporate activities based on what really matters for the health of the planet, according to a new Stockholm Resilience Centre report that was launched at Norrsken Impact Week in Barcelona in November 2024. “What gets measured gets done”, says Centre researcher Beatrice Crona. Second place of most read this year! Read the report on our website: https://buff.ly/3P4HJ3p

I've lived in #MorecambeBay pretty much my entire life. It's such a varied place - with the estuary and nature, ship (and sub) building, cities and small villages all in such a small area. It was brilliant to talk with Carys Nelkon and Bethan Garrett all about the Morecambe Bay Curriculum on the final Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business #TransformingTomorrow podcast of 2024 (I've been delightfully work-free since it came out) to discover the work they are doing with schools and teachers across the Bay to allow children to develop a love for their home and take a practical interest in its future.
